TMI Tuesday: Self-Care

Outside of regular hygiene activities–bathing, brushing teeth, hair care, let’s talk about what you do for self-care*.

1. Have you ever had a professional massage? If yes, what type? If no, why not?
Yes, and it was fucking amazing! I won one at a home show, and it was 60 minutes of absolute, all-over massage, bliss.

2. Do you engage in the following? Tell us all that apply and how often you do it?
a. yoga
I’ve never tried it, but I think it would be fun.
b. tai chi
I took a class a few summers ago, and I loved it – I really need to get back into it.
c. float therapy
I’ve never heard of it.
d. run/jog
I walk, but I don’t do the running or jogging thing.
e. workout–any that isn’t actually training for something but is for physical fitness maintenance
Four days a week I lift for 45 minutes or so, and 6 days a week I ride a bike for about an hour.
f. other – what?
Hmmm…swimming – as often as I can. Does masturbation count here? I do that…a lot.

3. How many hours of sleep do you average on a weeknight? Weekend?? Do you think you need more or less sleep?
I sleep about 5 1/2 to 6 hours during the week, and probably 8 on the weekends. I really need lots more sleep!

4. Which of the following are you most likely to add to your self-care routine and stick with it??
a. Schedule in a planner daily “me time”?
b. Acupuncture
?c. Take a moment at the end of each day and consciously list a few good things in your life.?
d. Turn off phone and step away from computer/tablet for 4 hours a day
Hmmm…I would love to add b, as I really want to try acupuncture. C is also likely, as it seems like a really good idea. I never have enough time to actively schedule “me time”, and I don’t think I can go away from the phone or computer for 4 hours a day.

5. What do you do for self-care either physically, spiritually or emotionally?
I try to meditate, although I’m not very good at it, but a dark room and deep, slow breathing often help when I’m stressed.

Bonus: Today, make sure you give yourself some love–self-care.
Absolutely!

TMI Tuesday: Create A Story

Emil Orlík [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons

I’d fuck Albert Einstein for his mind. I imagine we’d be sitting on the sofa, when he’d get an idea and his eyes would light up. He’d whisper sweet formulas in my ear, making me wet, and then he’d chase me down the hall and into the kitchen, both of us laughing and horny. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he’d grab the eggbeater and some olive oil and motion me to follow him. He wouldn’t be dragging me kicking and screaming – I’d be passionately curious to see what he was up to! We’d head to the bedroom, where I’d grab eight towels out of the closet to cover the bed. I’d marvel at his creativity and his tongue’s dexterity before we fucked each other silly, our bodies covered with oil, while the rain fell heavily outside. Lightning would light up our lovemaking, and the rolling thunder would sound like applause. As we came together, I’d finally understand how our mass and energy was related, and as I screamed he’d yell out “E = mc2!!” before we’d collapse in each other’s arms.

Relativity, indeed.

1. What do you think about when you’re alone in your car?
Oh, all kinds of things, really. But most often I am singing to something on the radio.

2. What advice do you have for your previous lover?
Hmmm…I guess slow down and really listen.

3. What  inspires you?
A lot of things inspire me. Seeing acts of kindness and love do the most, I think.

4. If you were to get rid of one person in your life, who would it be and why?
There’s no one who’s heavily in my life that I would want to get rid of – all of them are vitally important to me.

5. How do you cope when your level of sexual desire doesn’t match your partners?
Did I ever mention I used to review sex toys, and I have quite the collection for when my desire is in overdrive? Masturbation is a great way to cope.

Bonus:  Are you single, why? Are you married, why?
I’m married – why not? Marriage can be a very good thing.

Work by Onlysilence

1. How much time do you spend taking care of your significant other:
a. More than taking care of myself, more than 60% of my time.
b. About 50% of my time.
c. 10% to 49% … I have kids!
d. Not really any time at all, definitely less than 10% of my time.
Hmmm…I think that’s easily c).

2. How do you sleep at night?
a. With the whole bed to my myself…yaay!
b. I stay on my own side, someone else on other side.
c. We snuggle–start that way or end up that way.
d. We do not sleep together.
b). Although sometimes I don’t quite get my whole side.

3. What happens when you or your significant other gets home from work?
a. Stop what you are doing to greet and hug each other
b. Engage in conversation about the day
c. No specific acknowledgement of each other, no specific welcoming gesture but go about a household routine
d. Ignore each other
Usually a combination of a) and b).

4. How many things about yourself would you change? Share 3 things and tell us why.
That’s a tough one. I would change my height – I’d love to be taller than I am. I’d change my weight/bone structure to be smaller and thinner. And I think lastly I’d change my willpower, so I could stick to what I want to do.

Bonus: How many things would you change about a current significant other.
Hmmm…there are just two that come to mind.
