What About B.O.B.?

I have a pretty large collection of vibrators and dildos, most of which aren’t terribly realistic. I like realistic ones, particularly for dildos, and a suction cup is always a bonus! I’d been looking at a new brand called Pink B.O.B, and they were kind enough to send me the Ultra Real Suction Cup Dildo to try out for free, in exchange for an unbiased review.

Although B.O.B. does stand for what you think it does, they do make and sell a lot of non-battery operated toys. The dildo that I received came in a plain pink box with just the product name and some information on the back. Inside, it was sealed in plastic.

This is a nice looking dildo, and it’s a good size for me. It’s about 8” long overall, from the tip to the bottom of the suction cup, with 6” of insertable length, and it’s a nice 1.5” in diameter (4.75” circumference). It looks pretty realistic, and has a nice veined texture down the shaft as well as a well-defined head. The shaft is quite flexible, and I could bend it almost in half (it went right back to it’s normal shape when I let go). The dildo also has a curve, allowing it to hit your g-spot when thrusting.

The suction cup holds well on a flat, dry surface and really holds firm. It works on chairs, tables, shower walls – just about anything you can imagine that has a smooth texture. The suction cup is great for hands-free use, and it’s also great to hold on to while thrusting (holding onto the well-defined balls works as well). The cup also works well in my fucking machine and stays in place securely when it’s in motion.

The box doesn’t list the material, but the website says it’s 100% silicone. It is, indeed, odorless and flavorless, and it doesn’t have an oily feel. It feels soft and silky. The silicone is dual-layered, so it has the soft outer skin over a firmer but flexible inner.

You will want to use a good water-based lube when using this dildo, to make insertion and use easier. It’s easy to clean after play with soap and water or a toy cleaner.

Thank you to TooTimid for sending me this to review! I really like this dildo. It’s a great size, feels good, and is easy to use. If you’ve been looking for a realistic dildo that’s made of a body-safe material and has a suction cup to boot, you can pick one up at PinkBob.com, or at TooTimid by clicking the widget below.

The Sherbet

A long, long time ago (February 2008 to be exact) I wrote my very first sex toy review! Hard to believe I’ve been reviewing them for so long. I’ve written  hundreds of reviews since (for sex toys, lingerie, and DVDs), but I thought it would be fun to revisit this, my very first. This review was originally posted on another site, with non-exclusive rights, and I’m reposting it here, with some picture additions.

The Sherbet by Tantus (flash picture)

The Sherbet by Tantus (flash picture)

The Sherbet dildo/vibrator has a lot going for it. It has light vibrations when used as a vibrator, and overall, it does its job well. The only problem is removing the vibrating bullet easily from the base.

Sherbet, no flash

Sherbet, no flash

The Sherbet dildo  by Tantus has a lot going for it. Being made of silicone, it doesn’t have that jelly smell to it that is so hard to get rid of. It is a pleasant light green color (just about the color of lime sherbet), which was not intimidating to my partner. At seven and a half inches long, it is a good length (seven inches insertable). It is just over an inch and a half in diameter, which was just the right thickness for me.The head has an interesting swirl texture. Initially, I found it not as comfortable as a smooth head, especially when inserting; although using plenty of lubricant, it felt fine. Once it was inserted, the swirls created a pleasant sensation.

The Sherbet is firm but not so rigid that it doesn’t flex with you. The base is flared, as you can also use this as a strap-on in a harness. It provided a good grip for thrusting, both by my partner and by me.

The Sherbet flexibility

I was intrigued by the insertable bullet vibrator that came with it. It is powered by watch batteries, which are included. When the bullet is inserted into the base of the Sherbet and twisted, it provides pleasant vibrations, not too intense, spread evenly up and down the entire length of the shaft. It is not very noisy at all.

This was my first experience with a silicone vibrator, and it was very enjoyable. The only problem with the bullet is that it is not easy to remove. I thought it would just slide out, but instead, I had to get a pair of long-nosed pliers to remove it from sherbettipthe base. If you only intend to use this as a vibrator, this isn’t too much of a problem as you can unscrew the base of the bullet to replace the batteries, but if you want to alternate use as a dildo and vibrator, make sure you keep an extraction tool handy. The bullet removal and reinsertion may get easier over time, but it may take a while.  I also think it is better to remove the bullet before washing, so it does not become damaged.

Overall, the Sherbet dildo-vibrator is pleasant and effective, and I would definitely recommend it.

sherbetbaseAfter over 5 years, I still use this on occasion.  I gave up on using it as a vibrating toy, as the bullet was far too difficult to remove. The color is not as bright as it once was, but I like the shape and size of this, and it does attach well to my fucking machine as well as my heel harness.
Although Tantus no longer makes the Sherbet, they do make some wonderful toys, which you can check out by clicking the banner below.

Set Sail

I’m always looking to expand my dildo collection. Why, you ask? It’s true that I have a wide variety of dildos already, but I don’t have as many realistic ones as I’d like. Many of the ones I do have are thicker, and there are times when I want one more average-sized.  I picked the Admiral to review for free this month from Good Vibrations, in exchange for this unbiased review, as it looked like it would fill all of those needs.

admiralboxThe Admiral silicone dildo from Pleasure Works comes in a cardboard box with the product featured on the front and back.  Inside, the Admiral comes in a plastic bag. The box isn’t the best for storage, so you’ll want to use a toy bag or keep it on your sex-toy shelf.

admiralaloneThis dildo comes in three colors: vanilla, caramel, and coffee, and I received mine in the coffee color, which is a rich, chocolate-y brown.  It’s made of silicone, and it’s decently squishy, yet holds its shape nicely.  The surface isn’t tacky, but it does have a bit of drag, which lube takes care of nicely.

The Admiral is 7 1/2″ long, and realistically shaped. Its head is detailed and has a small ridge, but the ridge is soft and doesn’t cause any discomfort during use.  The shaft is just 1 1/2″ wide, gently curved, and has a light veined texture. It’s firm, yet flexible, and feels good internally. One thing that’s nice is the base, which is fairly flat. The balls are textured and easy to grip onto, and the base width is thin enough to allow the Admiral to work in a harness for vaginal or anal use.

admiralflexThis dildo is easy to clean before and after use. It can be washed with antibacterial soap and water, boiled, or run through the dishwasher without soap. Once dry, it can be stored in a toy bag or on the toy shelf.

Water-based lube is recommended, although if you prefer silicone, do a spot test on the base to make sure there’s no reaction between the toy and the lube.

So, Did It Work? I like the Admiral.  This is one of the thinner dildos I have, and I really like how it feels internally. Vaginally, the curve works well, and the head is firm enough to hit my G-spot during use. The balls make it easy to keep the curve going the right direction, and they also help to hold onto it with lube-covered hands and thrust.   It works anally as well, although I prefer smoother heads.

Thank you to Good Vibrations for sending me the Admiral for free in exchange for this review!  If you’re looking for a realistic dildo with good texture, length, and flexibility, yet not too large, the Admiral is a good choice. You can pick one up at Good Vibrations by clicking the banner below.

Back To Basics

It’s April, and you can tell spring is near by the wild changes in the weather: sunny one day, snowing the next. It’s also a great time to review new products from Cal Exotics! This month, as part of their Sexpert program, I received the Silicone Basics Long John dildo for free in exchange for this unbiased review.

calexlongjohnboxThe Silicone Basics Long John comes in a clear plastic, easy-to-open clamshell case. The toy is displayed through the front of the case, with a paper insert behind it that lists its features. This dildo is available in ivory, pink, and brown, and I received mine in ivory, which is a light flesh-tone color.

longjohninhand2The Long John is 7” long overall,  with about 5 3/4″ insertable. The head is detailed, and the lightly curved shaft features veined detail. This dildo is made of silicone, and it’s got a nice squish to the surface while still being firm. The shaft is flexible, yet holds its shape well. It’s 1 3/4″ in diameter at its widest, so it’s best for those who like a bit more girth, and it can be used vaginally or anally. The balls are small and thick, and work well to hold onto when thrusting the Long John, although they won’t work well in a harness due to their size.  The base is slightly rounded on the bottom, so this dildo may have some trouble standing up on your toy shelf.

longjohnaloneThis dildo is easy to clean, and should be cleaned both before and after use. It can be washed with antibacterial soap and hot water, boiled on the stove, or run through the dishwasher in the top rack (no soap). When dried, it can be stored in a toy bag or box.

Water-based lube is recommended, but if you prefer silicone, do a spot test on the base to make sure there’s no reaction between the lube and the toy.

So, Did It Work? This is a pretty nice dildo. It’s soft and a bit flexible, which makes inserting it a breeze. The curved head hits my G-spot just right, and it definitely feels filling. The balls and thick base work well to hold onto when thrusting, even with lube covered hands. The base could be a bit flatter, as the Long John doesn’t want to stand up on my shelf – rather it wants to rock and lean against my other toys.  It doesn’t have a lot of frills, but it works well, which is what matters.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending me the Basics Long John to review this month as part of their Sexpert program! If you’re looking for a silicone dildo that’s thick, flexible, comfortable to use, and curved for G-spot stimulation, the Long John is a good one to look at.
