A long, long time ago (February 2008 to be exact) I wrote my very first sex toy review! Hard to believe I’ve been reviewing them for so long. I’ve written hundreds of reviews since (for sex toys, lingerie, and DVDs), but I thought it would be fun to revisit this, my very first. This review was originally posted on another site, with non-exclusive rights, and I’m reposting it here, with some picture additions.
The Sherbet dildo/vibrator has a lot going for it. It has light vibrations when used as a vibrator, and overall, it does its job well. The only problem is removing the vibrating bullet easily from the base.
The Sherbet dildo by Tantus has a lot going for it. Being made of silicone, it doesn’t have that jelly smell to it that is so hard to get rid of. It is a pleasant light green color (just about the color of lime sherbet), which was not intimidating to my partner. At seven and a half inches long, it is a good length (seven inches insertable). It is just over an inch and a half in diameter, which was just the right thickness for me.The head has an interesting swirl texture. Initially, I found it not as comfortable as a smooth head, especially when inserting; although using plenty of lubricant, it felt fine. Once it was inserted, the swirls created a pleasant sensation.
The Sherbet is firm but not so rigid that it doesn’t flex with you. The base is flared, as you can also use this as a strap-on in a harness. It provided a good grip for thrusting, both by my partner and by me.
I was intrigued by the insertable bullet vibrator that came with it. It is powered by watch batteries, which are included. When the bullet is inserted into the base of the Sherbet and twisted, it provides pleasant vibrations, not too intense, spread evenly up and down the entire length of the shaft. It is not very noisy at all.
This was my first experience with a silicone vibrator, and it was very enjoyable. The only problem with the bullet is that it is not easy to remove. I thought it would just slide out, but instead, I had to get a pair of long-nosed pliers to remove it from the base. If you only intend to use this as a vibrator, this isn’t too much of a problem as you can unscrew the base of the bullet to replace the batteries, but if you want to alternate use as a dildo and vibrator, make sure you keep an extraction tool handy. The bullet removal and reinsertion may get easier over time, but it may take a while. I also think it is better to remove the bullet before washing, so it does not become damaged.
Overall, the Sherbet dildo-vibrator is pleasant and effective, and I would definitely recommend it.
