Embrace The Vibrations

Spring is in full bloom, at least most places, and it’s a great time to explore some of the new vibrating toys from Cal Exotics! This month I received the Embrace Beaded Probe for free to review, as part of Cal Exotic’s Sexpert program.

probeboxThe Embrace Beaded Probe comes in a black slip-cased box. The slip-cover has product information and a picture of the toy on the back. The box itself is suitable for storage, and contains the probe, which rests in foam, and underneath the foram and a cardboard insert are a small instruction slip and a USB charging cord.

probefromsideThis probe comes in three colors – grey, purple, and pink, and I received mine in purple. It’s made of silicone for the insertable portion, and it has a PU-coated ABS handle/base. The probe is 4 1/2″ long overall, with about 3 3/4″ insertable, and it’s set at an angle on the base. The silicone is fairly slick and the probe is firm. Where the probe attaches to the base it does have some flexibility.

probeflex

The insertable portion of the probe consists of 4 bubbles. The top bubble, which is inserted first, is the largest at 1” in diameter. The three remaining bubbles decrease quickly in size down to just 1/2″. This helps keep the probe in place once it’s fully inserted.

The probe’s base is firm and about 4 1/4″ long. It has a small ball on the front that can be used for external stimulation, and the back of the handle has a looped opening that works well for control – it’s wide enough to accommodate one-two fingers.

probewithcableOn the bottom of the base is the charging port. The USB cord plugs into the port, and the toy can be charged with a USB wall adapter, or plugged right into your computer.  The port is covered with a silicone layer, making the probe waterproof and suitable for use in the shower or bath.

This toy charges in just 70 minutes and will run on high for 2 hours, or low on 3 hours. It comes partially charged, but should be fully charged before the first use.

When charging, the power button, which is located on one side near the base of the shaft, will flash white on and off, and the light will glow steady when the charge is complete.

probehandleThe Embrace Beaded Probe is easy to turn on by pressing the power button. It starts on a low, steady vibration, and subsequent pushes of the button will cycle through all 7 of the probe’s vibration levels and patterns. To turn off the probe, hold the power button for about 3 seconds. It’s pretty quiet, especially when fully inserted, and the vibrations are decently strong. The handle transmits the vibrations well, providing stimulation to external areas.

This toy is easy to clean with antibacterial soap and warm water, and you can also use toy wipes or a toy cleaner. It doesn’t pick up a lot of dust, but it’s a good idea to wash it both before and after use. It’s best to store in its box, but it can also be stored with its charger in a toybag. Water-based lube is recommended – if you prefer silicone lube, do a spot test towards the bottom of the shaft before use.

probeinhandSo, Did It Work? I love vibrating anal toys, and this is a fun probe. It’s on the smaller side, so it’s easy to insert, even though it doesn’t have a tapered tip, and it stays in place well during use. The vibrations feel good inside, and they transmit well for some additional stimulation externally as well.  Using this and a clit vibe, I can come pretty easily. I like the patterns this one has, and I especially love that it’s rechargeable, with a quick charging time.

The handle on this, with the finger loop, is great – it allows for more control if thrusting this at all, which is especially helpful with lube-covered hands.

The only thing that could be better is the power/function button. It’s very easy to press, and it’s easy to change the pattern when you don’t mean to. I do like that it only changes the pattern, though, and doesn’t turn it completely off.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending me the Embrace Beaded Probe for free to review! If you like vibrating anal toys that stay in well, are smaller, and are rechargeable this is a great one to pick up.

Booty-licious

March madness is here! Well, maybe it’s really spring madness, but there’s nothing I’m looking forward to more than the weather warming up and reviewing new toys. This month as part of the Cal Exotics’ sexpert program, I got to review the Booty Call Booty Vibro Kit for free in exchange for this unbiased review.

calexboxThe Booty Vibro Kit is available in pink and black, and I received mine in pink. It comes packaged with information on the box, as well as small pamphlets inside.

calexfrombox

The controller and both probes are sealed in plastic inside the box. This is a pretty versatile kit, as it can be used in several ways.

calexprobeinhandBoth probes are made out of smooth silicone. The first probe has a classic shape, with a tapered tip. It’s 5 ½” long overall, with 3 ¾” insertable. The tip is smooth and narrow to help with insertion, and the probe is only 1” wide at its widest point. The neck is just 3/8” wide, which will help the probe stay in place.

calexbubblesinhandThe second probe consists of a series of 4 gradually larger bubbles. This probe is 6” long overall, with 4 ½” insertable. The smallest bubble is just ¾” in diameter, while the largest bubble is 1 ¼”. They are easy to insert, although they may not stay in as easily as the smooth probe due to the very small neck.

Both probes have holes in the base to accommodate the bullet, but the hole can also be used for gentle manipulation with a finger.

calexbulletinhandThe silver bullet is 2” long and 1” wide. It’s made of ABS plastic with silver plating. It’s attached to the controller by a 31 ½” cord. The controller is made of PP (Polypropylene) , and has a teardrop, flat shape. It’s easy to hold, although very slick. The battery compartment lid is hinged on the back, and the controller holds 2 AAA batteries, which are easy to insert.

calexremoteThe bullet is controlled by a spin wheel on the right top side of the control. The bullet has speeds ranging from low to high. The vibrations in the bullet alone are fairly buzzy, and moderately quiet. The bullet can be used for stimulation on its own, or it can be used in the probes.

For vibration in either probe, simply slip the bullet in through the ringed base. The bullet fits snugly, but isn’t hard to either insert or remove.  When turned on, the bullet produces vibrations that travel well through the silicone.

calexprobewithbulletThe probes are easy to clean. They can be washed with antibacterial soap and water, boiled, or run through the dishwasher. The bullet is not waterproof, nor is the controller, so care should be taken when cleaning these pieces: the bullet can be carefully washed with soap and water and dried, and the controller can be wiped off with a wet cloth, if necessary, and dried. This set can be stored in the box it comes in, or in a toybag.

So, Did It Work?

This is a fun set! I like that it comes with 2 differently shaped probes, so I can use the one that strikes the moment. I did find the more classically shaped probe to be easier to insert, but after warming up with that, the bubbled probe wasn’t a problem (it’s always those bubbles that get to me), and the spaces between the bubbles allowed for an easy resting place before continuing. The hole in the base is large enough to slip a finger in, and it works well to gently thrust either probe.

calexbubblewithbulletThe bullet works well in both probes. The silicone transmits its vibrations well, and I can feel the vibrations inside. I like the bullet in the classically-shaped probe the best: since this probe has a longer neck, the bullet sits right outside on my skin and sends vibrations to the whole area. While the vibrations are what you’d expect from 2AAA, they’re quite enough for me, especially anally, to orgasm from.  I do wish the bubbled probe has a longer neck to it, so it felt more securely in place when fully inserted. I think with a longer neck, it would transmit the vibrations to the whole area like the other probe does.

The Booty Vibro Kit is one I’d recommend, particularly if you like smaller anal toys and enjoy anal vibration. Even if you don’t, you can use the bullet on your clit and insert the probes with no vibration.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending me the Booty Vibro Kit for free as part of the Sexpert program in exchange for this review!

Kink Of The Week: Prostate Play

Prostate play isn’t something I’ve ever engaged in, although I know a fair amount about it. This comes from one of my previous jobs, where a lot of interesting discussions with the guys really gave me a lot of information on what it was, what felt good to them, and how it aroused them.

I don’t think it’s an inherently kinky act – just another sexual act that some people enjoy, and others don’t. It’s one of those things I’ve been a little curious about, just a little, but also one of those things my partner isn’t in to. Like, not at all. He’s never stimulated his own, and no one’s ever stimulated it for him. Ever. It used to be that he’d freak out when my fingers, stroking on that sensitive taint, would get a little too close to his ass…he’d tense up and clench, and sometimes pull my hand away. Now, he doesn’t mind if I, very lightly, trail my fingers close, but that’s as far as it goes. If he wanted me to, I’d be willing, but since he doesn’t, I don’t.

What A Beautiful Plug!

After taking a bit of a break to get some porn reviews done, I had the delight of reviewing Icon Brands’ Glass Rose Butt Plug, which I received for free in exchange for a review. This review was previously published  on another website, who was granted non-exclusive rights to the content.  As the author of this review, I am reposting it here with some modifications and affiliate links where the item may be purchased.

I enjoy wearing plugs, and it’s fun to have decorative ones. Not really for my enjoyment visually, but for my husband’s. Most of the ones I have are jeweled, and honestly – how many different colored jewels can you have decorating your ass? I’ve got a few animal plugs as well, and it’s always fun to surprise my husband with the toy of the day, so to speak, but I hadn’t seen a plug quite like this one before.

The Glass Rose Butt Plug is from Icon Brands, and it’s part of their Fashionistas line. It comes in a grey and black plastic box, with the plug displayed through a front window and held in place in a plastic tray. Product information is on the back of the box. The box is flimsy and very partial to tearing and cracking, so it isn’t good for long term storage – your best bet will be a padded bag or pouch. The plug is available in two sizes: small and large.

This plug is gorgeous! It’s made of black glass, has a decent weight, and is 2 pieces securely joined together. The only seam is where the rose is attached. The plug itself is traditionally shaped – bulbed on one end, with a thin neck and flared base. On the small plug, the bulb is just 1 1/4” in diameter at its widest point, which is a size I find comfortable and easy to use without preparation, and the insertable length is just 3 1/2″.  The large plug sports almost a 1 5/8″ diameter, and has an insertable length of about 4 1/4″. The neck of both plugs is covered with what looks like etchings of leaves and vines, all in a dark grey.

plugtopSecurely attached to the other side of the base is a handblown black rose. The rose is quite large and very decorative, and it has no sharp edges on the petals. If for some reason the rose became detatched from the plug, the plug’s base is wide enough to keep it from sliding all the way in.

With the plug inserted, the rose nestles between your cheeks. It looks pretty cool. The plug stays in place fine, and you won’t have any problems walking, crawling, or having sex with it in… but you will not be able to sit down. Sitting on the rose is uncomfortable at best.

The Glass Rose Butt Plug is made of borosilicate glass, so it’s nonporous and resistant to shattering. You should, however, always check it for nicks, chips, and scratches before use. Glass holds temperatures well, so you can heat or cool this in water if you like temperature play with your plugs. It’s easy to clean with antibacterial soap and hot water, and should be cleaned before and after use. It can also be run through the dishwasher on the top rack if desired. The Rose Plug should be dried thoroughly before storing it away, and any type of lube you prefer can be used.

So, Did It Work?
This is one of the prettiest plugs I own, and it’s also up there with other glass dildos. The rose is large, but looks so delicate sitting atop the long stem. In fact, when I first showed this to my husband, I was holding it upright by the bulb, and he thought it was just a glass flower.

I found it easy to insert, and I like the neck diameter. It’s not so thin that I’m afraid it’s going to break, but it’s thin enough, and long enough, that it holds the rose in place when I’ve got it in.

My husband enjoyed this one, and liked the way it looked. He also found it amusing that I couldn’t sit down well with it in. That’s probably the only drawback to the plug, but it’s certainly one I can live with.

If you like butt plugs that are decorative when inserted, but want something different than a jeweled end or animal tail, this is a plug to look at. The black glass rose sits atop the base and nestles between your cheeks for an unusual look that your partner will love, and the thin neck keeps the rose in your rose securely in place.  This plug is available in both small and large sizes, and is available at Pink Cherry.
