When someone asks what the number 3 makes me think of, a lot of things come to mind. Of course, the Trinity is one of those things. For how I was raised, it would probably be surprising if it wasn’t. I also think of triptychs (ok, that’s probably not a common one), as one of my favorite painters, Hieronymus Bosch, has a rather interesting triptych called the Garden of Earthly Delights, featuring panels of heaven, earth, and hell. (And yes, this is also the name of the character in several detective novels – it is a great name). Both good and bad things can happen in threes – although it’s usually the bad things I notice most. Celebrities seem to die in threes, and disasters also seem to follow this pattern.
The number 3 also makes me think of menage a trois – in any combination. That might be because I’ve always fantasized about having one – there are such possibilities with three willing and horny bodies…
