Bump, Bump, For My Love

I’ve been exploring a lot of rabbit vibrators recently. Some fit me well but don’t have the power, while others didn’t fit me well at all but are super strong. Some were smooth, while others had texture to spare. At times I feel a bit like Goldilocks, looking for the one that’s just right. My Cal Exotics Sexpert product for June turned out to be another rabbit, one I had high hopes for being the right one: the somewhat intimidating looking Power Bumper.

This rabbit vibrator comes in a large box with the toy visible through the front window and product information on the back. Even in the box the Bumper looks intriguing with its coloring and nubs. It has a very light, almost unnoticeable smell right out of the box.

The Power Bumper is a two-tone pink in color. The shaft and clitoral stimulator are a hot pink which is translucent, while the base is a more subdued carnation color. This is a good sized rabbit at 10” long and 5 1/4″ insertable. The shaft has a 1 1/2″ diameter, although it looks larger due to the texturing.

The texture on the Power Bumper is amazing. The TPR sleeve that covers the innards is composed of hundreds of tiny nubs all over. The entire shaft, the clitoral bunny (even his ears), everything except the base is nubbed. The nubs (and indeed the sleeve) are soft and squishy, and lightly tacky to the touch. They are flexible and not rigid to make insertion easier and stimulation comfortable and not painful. While the nubby sleeve that covers the vibrator is loose, it is firmly attached to the base.

The clitoral stimulator is in the shape of a rabbit with long ears. The rabbit extends 2 1/2″ out from the body when measured from the top attachment to the shaft. The bullet is incased in the rabbit’s body.

Inside the shaft the head and beads are visible. The head piece rests atop the beaded section and can be lifted up a bit. The head is somewhat flexible. The beaded section consists of 4 rows of 3 beads that are spaced around their tracks.

The Power Bumper runs on 4 AA batteries, which are inserted by turning the bottom of the base slightly to the left. The battery direction is clearly labeled by diagrams inside the base. An O-ring sits between the base and the cap to make this vibrator safe to use in the shower or bath (although it’s far easier to manipulate in a bathtub).

The black control buttons are located on the bottom of the base. Two buttons control the clitoral vibrator, while the other two control the rotation. The two buttons on the left are, from top to bottom, Vibro and Hi/Lo. Vibro turns the clitoral stimulator on and off, while Hi/Lo cycles between high and low speed. The bullet’s low speed is more what I’d call medium, while the high is fairly strong.

The right buttons from top to bottom are labeled Spin and Rev. Spin starts and stops the shaft rotation, while Rev reverses the direction. The shaft only rotates at one speed, which is moderate, regardless of which direction it rotates in.

This isn’t a super quiet toy, but it isn’t terribly loud when inserted, either. As long as you’ve got some background music on, no one will know you’re using it.

The Power Bumper is made of TPR, which is hypoallergenic and phthalates free. It is semi-porous, so use a condom if you’re planning to share. This vibrator should be cleaned both before and after use by washing with antibacterial soap and warm water or you favorite toy cleaner and patted dry. Because it’s squishy, it isn’t hard to clean, even with the nubs covering the entire surface. The Power Bumper should be stored away from other toys, ideally in its box or a protective bag. Both silicone and water-based lubes are safe to use.

So, Did It Work? I liked the texture on this one – the nubs felt good, although I did have to use a lot of lube to get it in comfortably. The nubs made the Power Bumper feel a lot bigger in diameter than it would have if smooth. When the shaft was rotating they did provide some friction and stimulation since the sleeve is loose over the beads, and they also were stimulating when I thrust. I liked the nubs on the bunny as well, as they seemed to diffuse the vibration into multiple stimulation points.

The shaft rotation was decent, and I didn’t have any problems with the beads jamming. The bullet was moderately strong, and I liked that since it only had 2 speeds that it wasn’t super low on low. I would have liked the bullet to be located a bit farther down the bunny, however, so it hit my clit better. This is a problem I have with a lot of rabbits, where the most intense vibrations aren’t quite where I’d like them to be.  I wasn’t quite able to orgasm with this rabbit, but it worked well to get me close.

I didn’t find the buttons hard to use, and I actually liked their location on the bottom. It only took me a few tries to figure out what did what when I had it inserted, and since I tend to hold onto the base and not the bottom when using toys like this I didn’t hit them on accident.

This was fun to use in the tub as well. The water amplified the sound and it was louder than when I used it in my bedroom, but behind a closed door with the radio on it couldn’t be heard from the other side.

I’d like to thank Cal Exotics for sending this to me for free to review as part of their Sexpert program! If you’d like to try the Power Bumper for yourself, you can pick this one up at EdenFantasys by clicking on the widget below.

Fun In Public? Oh, Yes!

Wireless toys have been my thing lately. There’s something about getting off in public that’s quite a turn-on. This is apparently my month for reviewing them, and I was pretty excited to receive the 7 Function Remote Bullet from Cal Exotics for my Sexpert review.

This bullet vibrator comes in an easy to open box, with an actual size picture of the product on the front, as well as a nice looking couple. The back of the box points out some of the features of both the bullet and remote, as well as other product information. Inside of the box is the bullet, remote control, 1 12v battery, 8 watch batteries (4 are needed at a time), and a small instruction sheet that gives the battery orientation.

Both the remote and bullet are a pretty vibrant purple, and both are made of plastic with a velvet cote covering, so they’re soft to the touch and have no smell or taste. Both pieces are non-porous and phthalates free.

The bullet is 3” long, with a 1 1/4″ diameter. It’s meant to be inserted vaginally (never insert this anally!), and it has a 3 3/4″ retrieval cord that feels plastic coated attached at the bottom for easy removal. It has a noticeable seam running around the middle where the two pieces screw together, but it can’t be felt during use. It also has a Cal Ex sticker, which leaves some residue when removed, although it’s simple enough to get off.

The halves are easy to unscrew, and the battery compartment holds 4 watch batteries, which must be inserted + side down (the flat side of the batteries). The batteries do come held in plastic in 2 groups of four – make sure you remove the plastic or you’ll have a hard time removing them from the bullet! They can be a bit tricky to insert as well. A rubber O-ring sits at the bottom of the thread, making this bullet waterproof.

The remote is small and flat. It’s 2 1/2″ long, 1 1/2″ wide, and about 3/8” thick. It has a hole at the top where it can be attached to a keychain if desired. It also has a telescopic antenna which extends to 2 3/4″.

The remote holds 1 12v battery, which is inserted by sliding the battery compartment off. The battery is held securely, and the battery door, once replaced, won’t come off unexpectedly.

The front of the remote has four buttons: a dedicated on/off button, 7 function F button, and 2 buttons to control the speed, labeled + and -. A small LED light is next to the speed buttons, and flashes red when any of the buttons is pressed. It doesn’t stay lit, so you can’t use it to tell if the bullet is on or off, or what mode it is in. You’ll have to rely on your partner to tell you. While the bullet is waterproof, the remote is not . Make sure not to submerge this in water!

The bullet has 7 speeds and 7 functions. When turned on, the bullet starts in a low steady vibration. Pressing + increases the power to maximum (about 5 presses). Pressing the F button at this point does the following:
– increase in power about 5 seconds, back to slightly lower for 5 seconds, repeats
– “shaker” pattern from high to low
– medium pulses
– fast pulses
– medium pulses that gradually get longer and less intense, then a few revs before repeating
– 2 short and 1 long pulse
– low and steady vibration

The bullet is pretty quiet when inserted, and won’t be heard if there’s any kind of background noise. This is great to use at a bar or noisy restaurant, if you can handle the vibrations. The high speeds can get a bit intense if the bullet runs for a while.

The bullet should be washed before and after each use with an antibacterial soap and water, or your favorite toy cleaner. The remote should be wiped off, if necessary, with a damp cloth. Both pieces should be dried off with a soft towel. Water-based and silicone lubricants are safe to use with the bullet.

So, Does It Work? For the most part, yes. It’s definitely quiet enough to wear in public, and we were able to control the bullet from about 20 – 25 feet away. It certainly made grocery shopping more entertaining! I found the 2 short and 1 long pulse to be my favorite setting – it certainly didn’t let me forget I had it in!

We did have some trouble with the bullet stopping when cycling through the patterns. This occurred more on the lower speeds, although it would happen on the higher speeds as well, when he was consciously pushing the buttons.  The LED doesn’t stay lit, so your partner will have to ask you if it’s on and what pattern it’s on.

My husband kept this in his pocket, and didn’t have any problems with hitting the buttons by mistake when he had loose pockets, but it did change pattern or shut off when he was wearing tight jeans. He has the same problem with his cell phone in tight pockets as well, so for us looser pockets are a better choice. He would have liked to put this on a keychain, but he balked at the purple color. It attached fine to my keychain, and with all the other things on there I didn’t find it to stand out or be too noticeable.

My biggest issue with this bullet is the way it drains batteries. I was happy that 8 were included, because after only using the bullet for about 30 minutes (during which it performed admirably), coming home, and removing the batteries for storage, the batteries were dead when I went to use them again. The same happened with the other 4 batteries. I’m not sure if it had to due with the batteries not being the freshest, or if the bullet just eats them.

Overall, we had a lot of fun with this one. Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending me this for free to review!

Will This Be Your Heart’s Desire?

My most recent product that I received from Cal Exotics for review is the Heart’s Desire Teaser.

The Heart’s Desire comes in a small box with pictures of the product and listing of the features. Inside the box, it’s packaged in a small plastic bag, and has no scent at all.
It certainly looks cute. The Heart’s Desire is a pretty shade of translucent purple with glittery sparkles all over. When held with the bullet base at the bottom, it somewhat resembles a long-eared puppy. Turned around, with the base at the top and viewed from behind, it looks like a heart.
The Heart’s Desire is a sleeve over a vibrating bullet. The sleeve is 1” wide over it’s body portion, about 3” long, with a spread at the heart’s widest position of 2 1/2″. The top has a protuding angled nose, and the body is covered with 23 small nubs for added stimulation. The sleeve is about 1/8” thick, and made from TPR, which is non-porous, latex free, and phthalates free. The sleeve is slightly tacky to the touch, and is squishy and flexible except where the bullet is encased.

Inside the sleeve is the bullet, which can be removed by gently starting to roll down the sleeve. Once it’s down a little ways, you can grasp the bullet and wiggle it back and forth to pull it out. The bullet is 4” long and about 3/4” wide, very slightly tapered from its round tip.
The bullet’s base is a shiny, glittery purple to match the sleeve, but the rest of the bullet is unique in that it’s clear. You can see the battery inside, as well as the little gold “vibrator” in the tip. When turned on, you can watch this spin around and create the vibrations, which are mainly felt in the tip, but can be felt to a lesser degree down the bullet. The base of the bullet can be unscrewed to insert 1 AAA battery (not included), positive side up towards the base.
The bullet’s vibrations are controlled by pressing the white button on the bottom of the base. It has two speeds, low and high. The low vibrations are quite low, and even the high vibrations are not earth-shaking, due in part to the small power suppy. Inside the TPR sleeve, the vibrations can’t be felt much down the body of the sleeve at all. It is incredibly quiet, much less than a cell-phone’s vibrating mode.

This vibrator is waterproof, but you should make sure you securely tighten the base before using this in the tub. The Heart’s Desire doesn’t really need lube for use, but if you choose to, water-based lubricant is recommended.

Care and cleaning of the Heart’s Desire is simple. The sleeve can be removed from the bullet, and both can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water. I’d recommend letting it dry before reinserting the bullet so as not to trap water inside the sleeve, and also so the bullet will go in without a fuss..

So, does it work? To use on its own, I would have liked the sleeve and bullet to be about 1” longer, so the tip could be inserted while the body of the toy rested and nestled. When I’ve got the nubs positioned right, the tip doesn’t quite reach far enough. The sides of the heart are soft and flexible, and comfortable to get into position. When I had this reasonably situated, I could leave it in place hands-free and vibrating away, as long as I didn’t do much moving around. It also didn’t impede inserting another vibrator for me.

With only 1 AAA battery, the vibrations of the Heart’s Desire are mild, even on the high setting, so this isn’t a toy I’d use to get off quickly. Settled in for a relaxing soak in the tub, though, or a long foreplay session and the vibrations teased me nicely.

If you need a lot of pressure or strong vibrations on your clit to orgasm, this won’t work well for you.  If you enjoy teasing, light sensations on your clit, you will find this one pleasurable.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for providing the Heart’s Desire Teaser free to me for review!

Gimme A G!

I was recently accepted as a Cal Exotics Sexpert , and for my first review item I received the Spellbound “G” vibrator

The Spellbound comes packaged in an easy-open plasic case, displayed on one side.  It’s definitely a pretty vibrator, in a vibrant shade of purple.  It’s also available in orange and pink.  The material is ABS plastic with Velvet Cote, so it’s soft, smooth, and velvety to the touch, as well as non-porous and phthalates-free.
The Spellbound is 6 3/4” long, with a diameter of 1 1/4″.  It has an angled, thinner tip for g-spot stimulation.  About 3” down from the top is a 1/8” wide metal ring, that’s slightly raised from the surface.  The ring is supposed to provide advanced pleasure, but I didn’t notice it much.  It’s more decorative than functional.

The base of the Spellbound unscrews to hold 2 C batteries.  Yes, I said C batteries.  It’s been a long time since I had a toy that used anything larger than AA.  And I’ve kind of missed C batteries.  My very first vibrator, eons ago, had C, and it had so much more power than toys that used smaller ones!
A small instruction sheet is included with instructions for inserting the batteries, but for the Spellbound it’s not really needed.  Simply drop them in, screw the base back on, and you’re ready to play.
Between the base and the shaft is an O-ring, which makes the Spellbound ideal to play with in the shower or tub.  And I do love waterproof toys!  I had no problems with water getting into the battery compartment when it was submerged in the tub.

The Spellbound is controlled by a dial on the bottom of the base.  It’s not too easy to turn (and not too hard, either).  The vibration level can be dialed from low to quite high.  The vibrations are felt most in the tip, but travel well down the shaft of the Spellbound as well.   The dial is a bit tricky to turn if you’ve got lube on your hands, but you also won’t change the setting accidentally when holding the bottom to thrust.

When the vibration power is increased, so is the volume of this toy.  On the lowest vibration, it’s fairly quiet, but crank it up and if you’re in the kitchen, anyone in the house will think you’re making a smoothie in the blender.  Under water, the sound is amplified and it sounds like someone’s using a drill.  You will want to have the stereo or TV on at a decent level if you want to hide the fact that you’re tickling your g-spot!

The Spellbound can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and hot water, or it can be wiped with toy cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.  Water-based, oil, or silicone lubes are all safe to use.

Overall, I like this toy quite a bit. The extra power from the C batteries is nice, and the tip hits where it needs to so I can orgasm.  It also feels great on my clit.  Note that this is not a toy to use anally, due to its lack of a flared base.

Thank you, Cal Exotics, for sending me this vibrator for free to review!
