I love girthy toys. While I have many that are around 1 1/2″ or less, there’s nothing quite like the full feeling of a thick dildo. I particularly love when they have a base that fits in my Liberator Wing as well (one of the most indispensible pieces I own). So when the Captain came up for review from Good Vibrations, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
The Captain comes in a large clear clamshell case, and it’s visible in all its glory through the front with a paper insert behind. The back has information about this bad boy, including the measurements and material. The case is easy to open, and inside the Captain sits in a plastic holder. I chose the Captain in Coffee, but it’s also available in Vanilla, Caramel, or Black (the colors almost make you hungry, don’t they?)
This is a substantial dildo, both in size and weight. It comes in at 7 1/2″ in length (just about 7” of that are insertable) and a pleasing 1 7/8” in diameter. The Captain is detailed with a pronounced head and veins down its straight shaft. The base is wide (about 3” in diameter) and flat, suitable for use in a harness. It’s also ideal for use in the Liberator Wing and stays securely in place, and will also hold fairly well to shower tile (even though it’s not strictly a suction cup base) for a bit of hands free play in the bath.
The silicone is matte and has a bit of drag as you run your hands down and around the Captain. Like all silicone toys, it’s odorless and has no taste, although if you plan to use this for oral do be aware of the size. The silicone is just a bit squishy, mostly firm, although the toy itself has a good amount of flexibility in the shaft.
The Captain is easy to clean with soap and water, or you can pop it in the dishwasher on the upper rack or boil it if you desire. Waterbased lubes are safe to use.
So, Did It Work? I like the Captain! I love the color, and this is a great size for me. It’s easy to hold and maneuver, and it’s fun whether I use it alone or with my partner. The silicone has enough flexibility that it’s not painful when he gets overexuberant with his thrusting. I love the fact that this fits in my Wing and sticks pretty well to my shower wall, too!
