Rabbit Rabbit

Fall is here, and things are changing – and finally getting less hectic. It’s been a while since I’ve had the fun of reviewing a CalExotics product, and given my propensity for rabbit vibrators, I was excited to receive the Jack Rabbit for free to review.

rabbitbox
The Jack Rabbit comes in a clear clamshell case, with the toy visible through the front, and an insert with product information behind it. This toy is available in 3 colors: pink, blue, and purple, and I received mine in pink, which is a light, bubble-gum color. The case is easy to open, and contains the vibrator, USB charging cable, and an instruction sheet.

rabbitoutofbox
This rabbit vibrator is made of silicone (with the exception of the base, which is ABS with a PU cote, and the decor, which is sliver plated ABS), and it’s odor and phthalate free. The silicone is soft and smooth, and has no drag to the touch. rabbitheadThere is some give down the shaft, due to the silicone being loose over the inner workings of the toy – this also makes the shaft a bit flexible for better positioning. The shaft is gently curved and about 5 1/2” long, with a maximum 1 1/4” diameter, and even with its rounded head is easy to insert.

The clit arm is shaped like a rabbit, with nubbed nose and ears that are joined. It’s 2 1/2” long and about 1” wide, so it nestles comfortably against the clit when the shaft is inserted.

rabbitchargingportRechargeable toys are always a plus, and the Jack Rabbit is charged via the included USB cable. The jack slips into the charging port on the back side of the toy, and the other end can be connected to your computer’s USB port, or to a wall adapter. LED lights under the silicone backlight the buttons in a flashing pattern while the toy is charging – the lights will glow steadily when charging is complete, which will take rabbitbuttonslita maximum of 3 hours, depending on the charge remaining in the Jack Rabbit when it’s plugged in. Once fully charged, this rabbit will run for 3 1/2 hours on high settings, and up to 6 hours on the low settings.

The Jack Rabbit has 3 motors: 1 in the tip, one towards the bottom of the shaft, and one in the clit arm. These 3 motors aren’t controlled separately, but work together in the Jack Rabbit’s patterns.

rabbitbuttonsThe front panel has 3 control buttons, which are silicone and easy to press. The middle button is a dedicated on/off button, so you can turn the Jack Rabbit off quickly if necessary. Pressing this button once turns the toy on and backlights the buttons, but doesn’t power up the motors. The top button is the pattern button, and each press cycles between the following patterns:

– moderate steady vibration in all three motors
– steady, long vibration in the shaft, followed by 4 pulses in the clit arm
– 3 medium-long vibrations in the shaft, followed by 3 short pulses in the clit arm
-long vibration in the shaft, 5 short vibrations in the lower shaft, then 3 long vibrations in the clit arm
– reverberation up the shaft 2 times, then clit arm revs down once
– shaft tip and clit arm rev up twice, then lower shaft revs down
– clit arm revs up twice, then the top of the shaft revs down

rabbitinhand2When the Jack Rabbit is turned off and then back off, it starts at the first setting. So what do you do if you like another setting better? This is what the bottom button is for. This button is marked R, and is easy to use. Once you’re on the setting you like, press and hold the R button for about 3 seconds – it will rapidly flash – and this will set the pattern. Now, you can turn on the Jack Rabbit and press R, and it will immediately go back to the setting you stored. If you change your mind at some point and want to store another pattern, simply go to that pattern and hold the button down for 3 seconds.

The vibrations are moderately strong in the modes, and are more throbby than buzzy. The different patterns are almost musical, and the shaft motors are loud if the Jack Rabbit isn’t inserted (they’re not entirely silent when it is inserted, but they’re definitely a lot quieter), but they won’t be heard with some background noise or music on.

This vibrator is waterproof, so it’s great to take into the tub with you. Being waterproof also makes it easy to clean before and after use with some antibacterial soap and warm water.

rabbitflexSo, Did It Work? The Jack Rabbit has a lot going for it. The size of the shaft is great, the silicone has a great feel, and the slight curve makes it easy to insert. The clit arm is long enough for me to have the vibrations hit where I want them to. I love the idea of a memory button – it’s a rare thing that I like the first vibration pattern, and this way I can go right to the setting I want to use. The vibrations aren’t overwhelmingly strong, but they’re strong enough to get me going, and ultimately get me to orgasm. Plus, this is rechargeable and has a long running time, which is good for those marathon sessions.

The only thing I would change about the Jack Rabbit is the vibrations for the clit arm. While I like pulses internally quite a bit, I prefer steady vibrations on my clit – and only the first setting has the steady vibrations. I would love to have been able to control the clit vibrations separately, and pair those steady vibrations with the different shaft patterns.

Thank you to CalExotics for sending me the Jack Rabbit to review! If you’re looking for a rabbit vibrator with a moderately sized shaft and multiple vibration patterns, that’s rechargeable and has a memory for your favorite setting, and you don’t need constant steady vibration on your clit, this is a good rabbit vibrator to look at.

What To Wear

Spring and Easter are just around the corner, and it’s a time of flowers, bunnies, and of course, eggs. It’s been a while since I tried out an insertable egg-style vibrator,  so I was happy to receive the Power Play Kegel Exciter from Cal Exotics this month for free as part of their Sexpert program.

calexkegelinboxThe Kegel Exciter comes in an easy-to-open plastic clamshell case. It’s available in pink, teal, and purple, and I received mine in pink. The toy is visible through the front of the packaging, and the back contains some information. A general instruction booklet is also included.

calexkegelfrontviewThis is a vibrating egg with a retrieval cord. It’s about 5 1/2″ long overall: the body is 2 1/2″ and the cord is another 3”. The egg is about 1 1/4” in diameter, and it has a slightly tapered tip for easier insertion (use a good water-based lube to make insertion easier). The toy is made of ABS with a PU Cote (the egg itself) and silicone (the décor, cord, and buttons).  The egg itself is firm with a satiny finish, while the silicone cord is flexible and can stretch some.

The Kegel Exciter runs on 1 AAA battery. The battery compartment is on the back side of the egg (opposite the buttons), and slides off to insert the battery. When the door is securely closed, the Kegel Exciter is waterproof.

CALEXkegelbatteriesTwo buttons are located on the lower part of the body. The top button is the on/off button, and the bottom button controls the functions.  Once turned on, pressing the bottom button will cycle through 10 vibrations and patterns. The strength is about what you’d expect for a single AAA battery, and the toy isn’t terribly noisy – you won’t hear it if you use it internally (although you’ll feel it), and any background noise will cover the sound it makes if you use it for clitoral stimulation. An LED light between the buttons will flash and glow to the setting the toy is on.

The Kegel Exciter is easy to clean, and should be washed before and after use with an antibacterial soap and warm water, then dried. The battery should be removed when the toy isn’t in use.  You can easily store this in a drawer or toy bag.

calexkegelwithstringSo, Did It Work? I love wearable, vibrating eggs, and the Kegel Exciter is a decent one. I will admit that I misread its name when I first got it and thought it was called a Kegel Exerciser, but as an exciter it does its job. The vibrations aren’t crazy-powerful, but I like the intensity of this just fine, especially since I like to use this internally for longer periods of time and want to maintain some control.  It’s not too hard to change the patterns when using this internally, but you do have to pull it down to get to the button, so I like to find the pattern I prefer and leave it set until I’m ready to remove it.

In addition to using this internally, it works well for clit stimulation, especially when I want a milder vibration. The range of patterns is nice,  and the firmness is also good.

The one thing that would make this better as a wear-around toy would be to have a small remote – that way I could change the patterns while it was in place, or leave it up to my partner to turn it on and set the vibrations.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending me the Kegel Exciter to review as part of the Sexpert program! If you like internal eggs that you can wear and be stimulated for longer periods of time, or you’d like to try it out and see why it’s so fun, this is a good choice. Nox in the Land of Hypnos

Earlier this week, I reviewed the new Loveo Ione, a massager-style vibrator from Loveo Co.  I also had the opportunity to try out the Loveo Nox, a vibrator with voice control, which Loveo Co sent to me for free in exchange for an honest review.

loveopurpleboxLike the Ione, the Nox comes in a black box inside a slip-cover – purple, in this case, which is the color of the Nox. The slip-cover has a drawing of the vibrator on one side and some product information on the other.  The box lid lifts off, and the Nox rests inside the box on a foam insert. Also in the box are a USB charging cable, a wall adapter, a small instruction booklet, and a black storage bag.

loveopurplewhatsintheboxThe Nox has a sleek shape and is about 8 1/2″ long overall, with 5 1/2″ insertable. It has a gently curved shaft which is wider at the head, (it’s about 1 1/2″ in diameter at its widest point) and the base is easy to hold during use. It’s made of silicone and comes in purple. The surface is firm with no give and the silicone is seamless, with just a slight drag to the surface. The buttons and surrounding area are done in silver-plated ABS plastic.

loveopurplechargeThis is a rechargeable vibrator with a Li-ion battery. The battery, when charged fully, will run the Nox for about 3 hours. The charging port is on the back of the base, and the jack inserts easily.  The Nox can then be plugged into the included wall adapter to charge, or it can be charged via the USB port on your computer. The toy’s control panel flashes when it’s charging, and will glow steadily once charging is finished.

noxbuttonsNox is controlled by 4 buttons, which are located on the front of the shaft. These buttons are +, H, M, and + (yes, these are both +, although I believe the bottom + is supposed to be a -, at least according to the instruction booklet.  Pressing the top + button for 3 seconds will turn the Nox on, and subsequent presses will increase the vibration speed (there are 3 vibration speeds to choose from).  Pressing the bottom + button will decrease the speed, and holding this button for 3 seconds will turn the Nox off.  The M button turns the mode (or patterns) on and allows you to cycle through the 7 vibration and pulsation patterns.

The H button is called Vox mode, and can be activated/deactivated by holding this button for 3 seconds. A small hole is visible by the H and M buttons that is a microphone – this mike is supposed to pick up sound and create vibrations based on the sounds in the room, including your own.

loveopurpleinhandThe vibrations for this toy are between buzzy and rumbly, and they can be felt all the way down the shaft, although they are concentrated in the head. They’re strong on the high setting, and not terribly loud – any kind of background noise will mask that you’re using this.

Although my manual said the Nox is water-resistant, it is in fact waterproof, so you will  be able to take this with you into the tub. It’s easy to clean, using soap and warm water, a toy spray, or toy wipes. Once dried, it can be stored in its box or in the storage bag that’s provided. Water-based lube is recommended, but if you prefer silicone or hybrid lubes, do a spot test first on the bottom of the handle.

So, Did It Work? The Nox has some good points. I like the vibration strength on high – it’s strong enough for me to use this clitorally as well as internally. The patterns are also nice, and I like that the vibration strength can be changed for each.  If that were all, I would recommend this as a good, solid vibrator.

Where the Nox fell short for me was on the voice, or Vox, mode. The small hole by the H and M buttons is supposed to pick up sound and create vibrations based on the intensity of those sounds – so it’s voice, music, and sound-activated. I was really excited to use this setting, and thought I’d give it a shot by myself first. It completely didn’t work – I was careful how I held it, so that I wasn’t covering up the mike, but no matter how loud I started talking, the Nox didn’t start up. I put on music, fairly loud, and…still nothing.

I tried it next with my husband, and it didn’t react to his voice at all either. We did finally get it to react – he had to be about 3” or so from the mike, and then the vibrations ebbed and flowed with his voice. It also worked from that distance if he blew into it – light breaths got the vibrations going gently, and hard breaths, or blowing into the mike, caused the vibrations to hit the maximum speed. This was kind of fun, but not really how I expected this to work at all.

I’d like to thank Loveo Co for sending me the Nox to review!  While I can’t recommend this – the Vox mode doesn’t work the way it should – I think the idea is pretty cool, as it would be fun to have a vibrator that is voice and sound activated, that will pick up on sounds in the room and not need you to be so close to the mike. If you’re interested in the Nox, you can pick one up at Pleasure’s Peak.

C’Mon and Love Me

It’s a new year, and a great time to try out new sex toys! Recently I had the opportunity to try out the Loveo Ione, a new erotic massager wand by Loveo Co, who sent it to me for free in exchange for an honest review.

loveopinkintheboxThe Loveo Ione comes in a black box covered by a pink slip cover that’s in the color of the toy.  The cover has product information on one side, and a drawing of the product on the other. The box has a lift-off lid, and a foam insert for the toy to rest on. The box includes the Ione, a USB charging cable, a wall adapter, a black storage bag, and a small instruction booklet.

loveopinkallpartsIone is made of a raspberry silicone that is firm and smooth to the touch with just a bit of drag. It is about 8 1/2″ long (measured straight up and down), and it has an ergonomic design that makes it easy to hold and use in a variety of positions, and the silicone is seamless. Silver-plated ABS plastic runs down the front of the toy’s handle and around the control buttons.

Ione’s head is about 1 1/2″ in diameter and 2” long. It’s a great size to hit your clit and the surrounding area. The neck is slightly flexible, allowing you to place Ione where you want it and still comfortably hold it during use.

loveopinkchargeThis is a rechargeable vibrator, and the Li-ion battery, when fully charged, will allow you to use the toy for about 2 hours. The charging port is on the back side of the toy’s handle, and the jack is easy to fully insert. This is USB chargeable, so you can plug it into your computer’s port, or use the provided wall adapter. The control panel flashes when Ione is charging, and it glows steadily when the charge is complete.

The three buttons that control Ione are located on the front of the handle, and are, from top to bottom,  +, o, and -. The plus button increases the intensity of the vibrations and the – button decreases them; there are 3 different vibration levels in all. The o button will turn Ione on or off if pressed for 3 seconds, and will also change the vibration pattern (there are 7 total) and activate the touch control.  When Ione is placed in touch control mode, the vibration intensity decreases about 30%, according to the manual, and will increase to the maximum when you touch your body with the top of the toy.

loveopinkbuttonsIone features vibrations that are moderately rumbly and somewhat buzzy. On the high setting they are quite strong, stronger than, I think, the Lelo SmartWand that I have. The vibrations aren’t terribly loud, although they are louder in the touch control mode, and any kind of background sound from the TV or music will mask the sound.  The vibrations aren’t localized to the head, and travel all the way down the handle.

This is a water-resistant, and not waterproof, toy, so you won’t be able to use this in the shower or tub. It is easy to clean with soap and warm water, or you can use a toy spray or toy wipes. It can be air dried or towel-dried, and stored in either the included storage bag or in its box. Water-based lube is recommended, but if you prefer silicone or hybrid lubes, you can do a spot test on the bottom of the handle first.

loveopinkinhandSo, Did It Work? Overall, I like this vibrator. The size is great for clitoral stimulation, as the head covers a good area. The handle is easy to hold, and the buttons are easy to reach. The vibrations are strong, and there’s a good variety of patterns. I also like that the patterns have 3 intensity levels to choose from. I usually use clit vibrators on high, and the vibrations are strong enough to get me to orgasm without much trouble.  I also like that there isn’t a seam around the head, so it’s a lot easier to clean than the Fairy Miniature, for example.

The instructions that come with this don’t completely match the toy – my on/off are not the +/- buttons, but rather the o button.  I think I’ve got the touch control by pressing the o button for a shorter amount of time than turning Ione off – the vibrations do seem somewhat less intense (I’m not sure if it’s 30% or not), and they get louder than they are when the toy is on regular mode, although they’re still not overwhelmingly loud.

Thank you to Loveo Co for sending me the Ione for free to review! If you’re interested in checking out this clitoral vibrator, you can pick one up at Pleasure’s Peak.

Squeeze Me, Please Me

Happy 2015! January here is starting off with crazy cold, snow, and lots of wind, so it’s a great time to hunker indoors and enjoy a few sex toys. This month, I’m back to rabbits, and I was excited to try out Cal Exotics’ Impress Tongue, with its interesting control pad, which I received free for review as part of their Sexpert program.

calexpinkboxThe Impress Tongue comes in a white box with the toy visible through a front window. A picture and product information are on the back. The box has a magnetic closure, making the box good for storage if you don’t mind it being visible through the lid. Inside the box, the Impress rests in a plastic tray, and under the tray are three small instruction manuals, one specific to the Impress Tongue operation.

calexpinkinboxThis vibrator is made of silicone (except the battery cover, which is made of ABS plastic covered with a PU Cote) and comes in pink, blue, and purple. I received mine in pink, and it’s a bright, bubble-gum shade. The silicone is slick and smooth to the touch with no drag, and the tip and clit arm have just a bit of give when squeezed.

calexpinkwhatcomesThe Impress Tongue is a nice-looking rabbit vibrator,  with sleek lines. It’s 9 1/2” long overall, with its shaft being flattened and broader than thick. The shaft is 4 1/4” insertable and about 1 1/2” across. The clit arm is 1 1/2” long, and about 1 1/4” wide, and is flexible out from the toy’s body.  This vibrator has dual bullets, one located in the tip of the shaft, and one located in the clit arm.

calexpinkbatteryOn the back the toy is the battery compartment. The cover slides off, and 3 AAA batteries can easily be inserted. Once the battery lid is firmly seated back in place, the Impress Tongue is waterproof and can be used in the shower or tub.

calexpinkbuttonsThe Impress Tongue has 3 buttons, as well as a pressure sensitive control pad. Below the clit arm, the top button is a dedicated on/off button, so you can get started or shut down in a hurry. It has an LED light behind the button to indicate when the toy is on. Below this button are two others. The left button is a pattern button – once the Tongue is turned on, pressing this button will cycle through 12 functions and patterns – some of these have both motors in sync, and others alternate between the shaft and arm. The control pad is essentially a large, squishy pad area below the buttons. When the Tongue is on any pattern, squeezing the pad hard will increase the intensity of the vibrations (depending on how hard you squeeze), and releasing the pad, or squeezing lightly, will lessen the vibration strength. If you like to vary the strength, you can squeeze and release during use. If, however, you like a certain intensity, simply press the right button once while still squeezing the pad – this will lock the Tongue on that intensity. To unlock, press the lock button again. The vibrations are somewhat buzzy, and they are musical, yet pretty quiet – any sort of background noise should hide the Tongue’s use.

This is an easy to clean vibrator: simply wash before use with antibacterial soap and warm water (or use toy wipes or a toy cleaner), then dry. It can be stored in its box, or in a toybag. Water-based lube is recommended; if you prefer silicone or hybrid lubes, do a spot test towards the bottom of the shaft first.

calexpinkclitarmflexSo, Does It Work?  This is an interesting rabbit vibrator, with both pros and cons for me. I like the size and shape of the shaft quite a bit – it’s easy to insert and feels good inside. Having dual bullets is also good – the one in the shaft has a good placement for me. The clit arm is short for me – it needs to be just a bit longer to really hit my clit like it should.  The dedicated on/off button is good, as I dislike having to hold a button for a few seconds to turn off a toy. Since this uses 3 AAA batteries, it isn’t a powerhouse in the vibration department, although the vibrations are decently strong, especially on high.

The big, new feature of this rabbit is, of course, the touch pad. I like this idea quite a bit – it’s a large pad, and it’s easy to squeeze. It’s fun to adjust the intensity up and down by squeezing and releasing. I do like that is has a lock button to lock the speed, but it is a bit tricky, especially initially, to hit the right button – I kept finding myself hitting the pattern button instead, which meant, if I didn’t like the pattern, I had to either cycle through or turn the toy off and then back on and cycle. Once I got the hang of it, it was easier to hit lock, but I think a different button placement might have worked better.  I would love to try this pad on other toys.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending this to me for free to review as part of their Sexpert program! If you’re looking for a battery-powered rabbit with a variety of functions and intensity levels, moderately strong power, and moderate size, the Impress Tongue is a good one to check out. You can find the Tongue, and other vibrators in the Cal Exotics’ Impress line, at SheVibe.
