1) What mode of transportation do you prefer for vacation: a) car, b) bus, c) train, d) cruise ship, e) airplane, f) other?
I’ll go with e, even though I hate to fly. While I like to drive, driving to a vacation destination takes too long, and uses up too many vacation days. Now, when I was younger, we’d always drive, and one week of our vacation was spent in the car. While this did allow us to see some interesting things along the way, it really cut into a lot of the fun stuff. I’ve only taken buses when we’ve gone on side trips from our original destination, and they’re ok, even fun with the right driver, but I don’t prefer them. A train might be fun to experience, and I would love to take a cruise ship and go on a two week cruise.
2) What baggage strategy do you use when flying: a) carry-on only, b) gate check excess bags, c) check baggage, d) ship bags ahead, e) other?
Much as I would like to do just a), I am a terrible packer…I always bring way too much. On family vacations, we try to pack suitcase in suitcase, in case we buy too much when we’re there. The last time I was in Las Vegas, I would have loved to only have a carry-on, as it would have been smoother, but I brought almost an entire suitcase of bondage gear, lingerie, and toys, so check the bag we did. It even got searched (as did the carry-ons)! I’ve had bags lost a time or two, although they’ve always turned up eventually.
3) What is your accommodation strategy: a) luxury hotel, b) bed and breakfast c) cheap hotel/motel, d) stay with family/friends, e) camping or RV, e) other?
It depends on the vacation – either a) or c). Usually I like to stay as cheaply as possible, within reason, but it’s fun to have nice accommodations. I’ve stayed at the Disneyland Hotel in California, and the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge in Orlando, and they really were fun to stay at and explore. I’ve even stayed in a penthouse suite in Las Vegas, which was absolutely fabulous. I’d love to try a bed and breakfast some time, but I’ve never had the opportunity. Camping? Never been… I’ve stayed with family or friends a time or two, if we’ve been going to visit as well as sight-see.
4) What world-famous places have you visited on vacation? These can be commercial tourist attractions (Disney World), museums (The Louvre), historic places (Gettysburg), natural wonders (Yellowstone, Yosemite), or anything else?
I haven’t been to as many as I’d like, but I’ve been to a few. I’ve been to Yellowstone several times, visited Devil’s Tower and Mount Rushmore when I was younger. Also lots of historic places, including Gettysburg. Some of my favorite vacations were to commercial attractions: Disneyland (my absolute favorite), DisneyWorld, Universal Studios (both Hollywood and Florida), the San Diego Zoo, and Sea World.
5) Where do you really, really want to go someday?
Someday I’d like to vacation in Europe, as there’s so much to see there. I’d love to go to Tokyo, and Australia, and New Zealand one of these days. . I’d also like to travel to every state in the US, and vacation at some world-famous beaches.
6) What you would you like to go back to see again?
I’d go back to Disneyland and Universal Studios Florida in a heartbeat. I could go there several more times, in fact. I’d also like to go back to Yellowstone – it always changes so much. The last time I was there was right after the big fire.
Bonus: Have you ever had sex with someone you just met while on vacation? Tell us about it.
Nope – nothing to tell here.
Bonus, Bonus: While vacationing, have you ever had sex in a moving car, bus, train, or airplane?
In an airplane once, yes. I’ve also had sex in a moving car, but not on vacation.
