Second Edition
Violet Blue
Foreword by Dr. Charlie Glickman

  • Revised and updated with a “50 Shades of Fun” sex toy overview for the latest in BDSM
  • Violet Blue’s nonfiction books, including The Ultimate Guide to Fellatio, have sold more than 300,000 copies combined
With a practical, sex-positive approach to pleasure, Violet Blue leads readers through the maze of sex toys on the market, explaining the many options available, including different materials, care and cleaning, and how to see through exaggerated marketing claims. Along the way she offers tips on creative usage and ideas for introducing sex toys to a relationship: how to ask your boyfriend to use the blindfold in your bedside drawer or how to surprise your wife with a saucy gift without getting your face slapped (unless that was the point). From the tried-and-true to the truly spectacular, this guide goes beyond the basics with tips on enacting a threesome fantasy with two people, setting up the sexiest lighting for a webcam show, and shopping for a steel cage dining table for captivating dinner parties. With fun and creative ways to bring sex toys into the bedroom and vital communication skills for couples, this guide is a must-have for the bedroom (or dungeon) bookshelf.
“No longer are toys solely for solo pleasure. Violet’s vast research and expertise in this area can guide both novice and toy-experienced couples.”

Now that I’m older and exploring BDSM during playtime (for us it’s “only in the bedroom” and not a lifestyle by any means) with a willing partner, I’ve been more actively seeking out both movies and books that deal with the subject.  I’ve since read some short story collections that deal with the theme, but I hadn’t read any more novels.  When Carrie’s Story was chosen as one of the Sexis Naked Reader Book Club selections for April, however, I knew this was one I had to read.
