Wicked Wednesday: Time Travel

Graffiti in Shoreditch London of a time machine by Paul Don Smith.

If I could build a time machine I’d start out in the past
And make small changes in my life that hopefully would last.
They say that just a butterfly can change the course of time
And messing with reality would really be a crime.

But nonetheless I’d journey back and change the time we meet
A casual encounter on a busy city street.
I wonder if you’d know me underneath the cloudless sky
We’d be much more than strangers that first time I passed you by.

We’d quickly become lovers and we’d stay together true
I’d fuck you every morning as the sky was turning blue.
I’d love you in the evening and fuck you again at night
And nothing would go wrong with something meant to be so right.

If I had to journey back I’d want to bring you back with me
To love me and to fuck me and to keep me company.
But in the present you’d be waiting; I’d find you anew
And I would spend the rest of my life loving both of you.
