I’ve been a fan of Cal Exotics’ Scandal line for quite a while now. I love the color combination and the variety of items that match beautifully and are functionally fun. This month, as part of their Sexpert program, I received another item in this line, the Scandal Spreader Bar, for free to review.
This spreader bar from Cal Exotics comes in a large box with a picture of the product in use on the front and some information on the back. Inside the box, the bar comes in pieces inside of a plastic bag and is wrapped to protect it before use. Inside the bag are a black metal bar, two covered ends, and two pins to attach them to the bar.
The bar, which is made of nickel-free black iron, is 15 ½” long with 8 evenly spaced holes to attach the end pieces. These pieces are just over 12” long, and have a black metal loop (which unscrews) on each end. Both pieces are covered with red and black polyester fabric which has a lacy pattern to it. The fabric is well secured to both ends and also down the seam. Each of these pieces also has a hole about 1” from the end to attach it to the bar.
The fabric covered pieces are attached to the black bar by 2 pins. The pins, which are also made of nickel-free iron, are about 1 ¾” long and have a 1” loop on one end.
This spreader bar is easy to assemble. Simply line up the hole on each end piece with the holes on the black bar, and slide each end onto the bar as far as desired. Once the holes line up, insert the pin all the way through to secure each end to the bar.
At its shortest, the assembled spreader bar is about 24” long, and both end pieces completely cover the inner black bar. At its longest, the bar is about 36” long and will have a 12” section of the black bar visible. The bar can be adjusted in 2” increments to achieve the desired spread. No matter what length you assemble the bar to, it’s sturdy and won’t flex or come apart. Cuffs with connectors can easily be snapped onto the loops on each end of the bar.
With the bar at its shortest, 24”, the spread will be comfortable for most. Depending on the position you’re in, the 36” spread is manageable and will leave you wide open.
The Scandal Spreader Bar is easy to clean if necessary. All parts can be wiped down with a warm, soapy cloth and wiped dry. Since it comes apart, the bar is easy to store and takes up very little space.
So, Did It Work? I really like this spreader bar. It’s pretty, unlike many of the bars I have, and it coordinates beautifully with the rest of the Scandal line. It’s easy to adjust the width of the bar, even during use, and it can be used with any cuffs by using standard connectors to connect over the bar’s loops.
Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending me the Scandal Spreader bar to review! This adjustable bar would be a good addition to anyone’s collection. If you’re interested in this bar, or other items in the Scandal line, you can pick them up at SheVibe by clicking the widget below.
