Kink Of The Week: Handcuffs

Handcuffs were one of the first kinky items I think I was ever exposed to. They weren’t kinky initially, of course. I had some as a kid, and I remember playing cops and robbers with the neighbor boys…the robbers always got caught and cuffed.

When I was in college, though, they weren’t for playing cops and robbers. One night my partner pulled out a pair, and I laughed, thinking seriously?  They were pretty standard: cheap, shiny metal with small keyholes on each cuff, and a fast release lever (also good for when you lose the key). I let him cuff me with my hands behind my back, and then later in front, and it was fun….and a bit kinky…and afterwards my wrists had red lines from the cuffs.

Handcuffs are not my favorite way to be bound, although I do have several pairs, and they can be fun on occasion. I have some that come with a furry tube that covers the cuff and makes them much more comfortable to wear, although I then have to color coordinate my lingerie. I even have some that are shackles – handcuffs and ankle cuffs, connected by a long chain. Those are quite different, and they can also be a lot of fun.

We mostly use the handcuffs if we’re role-playing – I have a rather sexy cop outfit, and my poor policewoman often finds the tables turned and ends up in the cuffs – but I’d much rather be bound with leather cuffs. For me, they’re more comfortable to wear, and a lot more versatile and easier to attach to various things as we play.
