October means cooling weather, crisp air, hot cider, and yes, new products from Cal Exotics! As a Cal Exotics Sexpert, this month I received the First Time Power G for review.
The First Time Power G is designed to be an introductory G-spot toy. It comes in an easy to open plastic case, with the product visible through the front and product information on the back. Mine came in a soft bubblegum pink.
This is a small, unintimidating vibrator. It’s 7 1/2″ long with about 6” insertable, and its diameter is just 1”. The tip is curved to stimulate the G-spot, but it can also be used for clitoral stimulation. A seam runs up the back and down the front, which is visible and can be felt with your finger, but I didn’t find it noticeable during use. The Power G is smooth with a velvety coating, and firm as well. It’s made of ABS plastic with a PU coating and is phthalates free.
The Power G runs on 2 AA batteries. These are accessed by twisting off the bottom cap. A small piece of paper inside indicates the battery direction (+ side first). There’s a large spring that pops up when the cap is removed and compresses when the it’s put back on, so be careful with the battery insertion and removal. A plastic O-ring sits below the threads on the vibrator to keep water out of the battery compartment and make the Power G safe for G-spot exploration in the bath.
This vibrator only has steady vibrations, which range from low to decently high. They are controlled by the twist dial on the base, which is indicated by a textured section (this is the only texture on the toy). The vibrations are high and buzzy, and strong in the tip. They’re also very loud, even when the Power G is used internally.
The Power G is easy to clean with soap and water, and should be dried before storing. Water-based lubes are recommended.
So, Did It Work? As a basic g-spot vibrator, the First Time Power G isn’t bad. Its small size is unintimidating, and the vibrations at the tip are strong, which makes it good for clitoral stimulation as well. I prefer a wider head, but the tip did work for me internally. The batteries stayed dry when I used it in the tub, so the O-ring works and it’s safe to use in the bath.
I didn’t like the roundness of the base. I like when g-spot toys have some kind of external indicator so I know if I have the tip pointed at my g-spot and not turned around – a bulge on the base, an indentation or raising on the lower shaft, something. I found when trying to thrust with this that it tended to get out of position easily for me. I also wasn’t keen on the noise – I don’t mind the buzzy vibrations since they’re strong, but this was pretty loud.
If you’ve never used a g-spot vibrator before, the Power G is a decent choice to see what g-spot stimulation and orgasm is all about.
Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending this to me as part of their Sexpert program!
