|The NobEssence Fling (Intrigue)|
I chose the Fling because I love NobEssence toys, and also because of its unique feature: the finger holes in the base.
Finger holes, you ask? Yes, indeed. These holes make the Fling easy to hold and easy to control when thrusting. They’re large enough for most fingers to fit through.
Unlike it’s cousin, the Ergonomic One Finger, the Fling allows you to have two fingers side-by-side. Using the holes also keeps the Fling in your (or your partner’s) hand when everything is all slicked up. Regardless of which way you put your fingers through the holes, it’s comfortable. It’s a simple idea but remarkably effective, and it makes the Fling much easier to thrust and control than many based toys.
This is a beautiful light-colored (and fairly lightweight) dildo. It’s handcrafted of bamboo and mine has a nice striped wood grain pattern. Since each NobEssence piece is individually crafted from natural wood, my Fling will look different from any other. It’s covered with a nonporous coating called Lubrosity which is hypoallergenic and phthalates free. It is also water and bacteria resistant as well as completely odorless. This coating makes the Fling smooth and slick to the touch, almost like glass. Not a lot of lubricant is necessary but both silicone and water-based lubes can be used if desired.
My measurements may also differ slightly from others. NobEssence guarantees their pieces to be within 1/8” of the stated measurement on smaller toys and within 1/4″ on larger ones so there is some variation. The Fling I received is about 7” long (measured straight from top to bottom – it’s about 8” when measured down the back curve). The Fling is 4” insertable (4 1/2″ along the back curve).
The Fling has a wonderful design. The top bulb is more oval in shape than round and mine has a 5 3/8” circumference. It is 1 3/4″ in diameter measured across its widest point. The bulb is about 2” long and curved for g-spot stimulation. It tapers down into a thin neck before widening to the base.
The Fling should be treated with care. Although it is completely sealed with the Lubrosity coating, it shouldn’t be dropped on hard surfaces since this may damage the cellular structure of the wood. If you do drop it you can test the finish by dipping it in water for a few seconds and wiping it dry. If the impact point darkens when wet and remains damp, the Fling should no longer be used.
Cleaning the Fling is easy. It can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water, toy cleaner, or a 10% bleach solution. It can be stored in its box for protection when not in use.
So, Did It Work? The Fling is as useful as it is beautiful. I need very little lubricant to make this slick enough to use, and I don’t find it too large for easy insertion. For solo play I found that my fingers didn’t get tired while trying to grip a base (although my arm could and did sometimes get tired). The angle of the head and the length worked well for me for g-spot stimulation and I found it very easy to control.
For play with my husband this worked fantastically. My husband loved being able to slip his fingers through the base. He found that his hand didn’t cramp and he could hold it more loosely while still keeping control. Depending on the position I was in, he put his fingers either through the front or the back and found both comfortable.
While I didn’t use this for anal penetration, the shape looks like it would work well to stimulate the p-spot. Since the head isn’t tapered it may be difficult to insert without any preparation .
