One of the biggest problems I find when using a small clitoral stimulator like an egg or bullet is having to hold onto it with my hand. After a while, it can get tricky to keep it in place. I’ve often thought it’d be nice to have something attached to my finger that I wouldn’t have to hold.
Enter the Fukuoku 9000. This small vibrator is billed as a fingertip massager, which can be used to massage your temples or more erogenous zones. It’s been around for a while and I’ve never tried it, so I couldn’t resist reviewing this for Babeland.com .
The Fukuoku 9000 comes in a hard to open clamshell case. I’ve gotten used to being able to open them easily, but this packaging must be cut and torn away to get to the product. I mean seriously, I want to play with a new toy right away, not after 5 minutes of struggling with the package! Inside and visible through the package are the fingertip unit, 3 attachments, a storage pouch, and 4 AG-13 watch batteries. The batteries are used 2 at a time, so you have 2 spares. It also comes with a limited 6 month warranty.
The storage pouch is nice. It’s made of PVC, but has a dull, grained finish to simulate leather. The pouch is 3 1/2” wide, 3” tall, and about 3/4″ thick. It has a loop as wide as the pouch on the back so you could wear this on a belt if you chose. The pouch closes with Velcro, and is roomy enough to hold everything inside.
The Fukuoku 9000 itself is made of see-through black plastic. It’s 2 3/4″ long from end to end, 1” wide at the finger extender, and about 1 1/4″ wide farther down. Two pieces of hinged plastic separate as needed to slip your finger in, and they should spread wide enough to accommodate the largest of fingers.
The battery compartment is on top of the unit, and is opened by pressing firmly back until the lid snaps off. The two batteries sit side by side, positive side up. The batteries should always be replaced in pairs for best results. To replace the lid, press down and slide until the lid clicks into place.
The power button for the Fukuoku is on the side, and is a slide button. Sliding it towards the tip turns it on.
The 3 tips are grey and made of 100% pure surgical grade silicone. Each tip is 1 1/4” long, and about 1” wide. The tips are thin, and slide into position on the finger extender. Each tip has a seam running around the sides, but it’s not too noticeable on any of the tips while in use.
Each tip has a different pattern on its pad. One pattern is a small series of dots in circles, another is 3 circles in the shape of a target, and the last is 4 straight lines running horizontally across the pad. The patterns don’t stick out a lot from the sleeve, although the one with the dots feels the most pronounced.
When you wear the Fukuoku on your finger, the opening goes towards the top of your hand, and the patterned side of the sleeve faces downward. The idea here is that the pad is an extension to your finger, and also transmits the vibrations through the nub to the area you want to stimulate. If you don’t want vibration, you can also wear the sleeves on your finger.
The Fukuoku 9000 is so named because it vibrates 9000 times per minute. It’s pretty quiet, although it has a bit of a high pitched sound to it. You won’t hear it over the TV, and neither will anyone else sitting in the room. The vibrations are high and buzzy.
The Fukuoku is made of plastic and the sleeves are silicone, so it’s body-safe, phthalates-free, non-porous, and latex free. It’s easy to clean. The sleeves can be safely cleaned with antibacterial soap and warm water, or they can be run through the dishwasher on the top rack to sanitize them. The unit itself is not waterproof, and can best be cleaned by wiping its surface with a clean cloth wetted with alcohol, then dried with a second cloth. If necessary, water-based lubricants are safe to use.
So, Does It Work? While the vibrations are fast and buzzy, they don’t seem very intense. They do feel good, however: this is a nice toy to use for foreplay or warmup. I didn’t notice much difference in the sleeves, even when grinding my finger into my clit.
The Fukuoku is hard enough to allow me to get the pressure I needed and wide enough to cover plenty of area with tingly vibrations. It gets me in the mood by itself, and it will get me to orgasm, but it takes a really long time. Combined with other stimulation, however, it works quite a bit faster.
I do like having the vibe on my finger. It’s a lot easier than trying to hold a bullet or small clit vibe in place. The material really transmits the vibrations to my finger as well. There’s no getting around that, but it can make my finger a bit numb.
This is great to travel with – it takes up little space and is easy to throw into a purse or suitcase. The battery life is also decent.
