24 Hours Of Decadent Pleasure

Although Afternoon Delight always brings to mind that song – and don’t you imagine skyrockets in flight? – this collection of 24 short stories (each by a different author) published by Cleis Press and edited by Alison Tyler doesn’t occur just in the afternoon. Instead, the stories run from pre-dawn excitement through morning, noon, and evening, with the last stories taking us full circle to the wee hours of the morn.

Afternoon Delight (erotica for couples) was published in 2009. It is 179 pages, with three reprinted stories (from 2003, 2006, and 2008). This is an oversized soft cover edition (8” x 5 1/2″), with the front featuring a picture of a woman and man in a passionate embrace. The back of the book lists the included authors and some tease about the stories. Alison has an introduction to the stories featured in the book, and the last few pages list the authors and their previous writing publications. Some of the writers are new to the genre, while others have been widely published in books and magazines.

The stories are all short, and easy to read in a 5 to 10 minute sitting.

This is erotica for anyone who enjoys reading of the sexcapades of almost exclusively heterosexual couples (mostly married) who are sometimes adventurous or rekindling their love. Only 1 story features two women as a couple, and the first story (which is only 2 short paragraphs long) is ambiguous.

A few of the stories have a bondage or light fetish element to them. While not all of the stories are stellar or arousing almost all are explicit, and there is a nice selection of stories that evoke a sense of fantasy and a desire to reenact them afterwards.

The stories here cover it all, from tickling, reconnecting, lingerie collections, tales of days gone by and sex in the office to exhibitionism, surprises, and role-playing. The stories I enjoyed the most had a bit of play-acting to the lovemaking, with the couple stepping outside of their usual boundaries to experience something new and erotic.

Several stories really created a sense of excitement for me.

“Breakfast In Bed” by Andrea Dale explored an erotic morning between a husband and wife, who are in a comfortable yet boring relationship. When the kids are away, the husband delights his wife with a smorgasbord of breakfast delicacies while keeping her arms tied to the headboard.

In “Nooner” by Bella Dean, the wife comes home at noon from an exhausting night shift to find her husband home unexpectedly. A fun and edgy dictation episode ensues with some master/slave play.

“Disco Queen” by Sommer Marsden features a couple that find an old disco dress while cleaning the garage. With instructional notes and a cleaned dress, the wife finds herself the star of a disco party for two.

In “Matinee” by Quinn Gabriel, a couple trying to reconnect find an erotic way to do so in a theater.

The hottest story in the book for me was “The Date at South Station” by Xavier Acton. Here, a husband picks his wife up in a bad part of town. She is totally transformed into a street prostitute, and she takes him for a wild ride in a seedy hotel, getting a little more than she bargained for in return.

I came away from this book with several ideas for spicing up my own relationship. Many of the stories were exciting and arousing, and all around this was a good read.

I’d recommend Afternoon Delight for those looking for ideas, as well as those just wanting to read about couples seducing each other at all hours of the day. This isn’t the book you’ll want to pick up, however, if you’re looking for erotica featuring anything but a man and a woman in love.

This book is one of two featured by the Sexis Naked Reader Book Club this month. If you’re interested in reading Afternoon Delight (erotica for couples), you can pick up your copy from EdenFantasys.

Eleven: A Mean Lean Squirt Producing(?) Machine

I’ve lusted after the Eleven from the first time I saw it. The glistening metal really drew me (I am a fan of pretty, shiny things). All of the njoy toys I’ve had so far, which include the Pure Plugs and the Pure Wand, have been fantastic, so I knew I had to get the Eleven from EdenFantasys as soon as I could. I was also hopeful that this would be “the One” to finally allow me to have a squirting orgasm.

The Eleven comes beautifully packaged in a white triangular njoy box, which opens to reveal a black clutch leather purse with the njoy logo on the bottom of both sides. Inside below the handles it’s lined with hot pink fabric. This makes a great way to store this toy. Also included is a small product booklet with information on the Eleven and other njoy creations.

When I first went to pull the Eleven from its purse, I almost dropped it. This is one incredibly heavy toy! It weighs in at 2 3/4 pounds, which is quite a bit heavier than any other toy I have. By a lot. The weight isn’t evenly distributed – this one is heavier at its larger end, which is to be expected, and it’s satisfyingly full and substantial in hand.

My husband took one look and asked me what I was planning to do with it – kill burglars? I think he had visions Clockwork Orange running through his head. You probably could – this is heavy and solid enough that it would take someone out if you hit them upside the head. He also joked about using it for a dumbbell. It’s a bit too light for that, but in a pinch…

The Eleven is 11” long (hence its name), all shiny and beautifully shaped with two different sized ends. It’s entirely seamless and has the njoy logo on it’s side. It’s cold, smooth, and enticing, and wonderful for temperature play. It can be warmed under water or placed in the refrigerator to cool it down as desired. It’s even a bit chilly at room temperature, although it does warm up quickly to your internal temperature.

The smaller end of the Eleven is 1 3/4″ in diameter. The bulbous tip has a small point, and is about 2” long, and the bulb is gently curved for g-spot stimulation. It narrows a bit to 1 1/4″ for the shaft, which on this side has 3 distinct finger ridges. The ridges are on the g-spot side for gentle internal stimulation, and you can rest your fingers comfortably in them.

The larger end is a full 2” in diameter, with the bulb being about 2” long. The neck on this side is wider, starting at about 1 3/4″ and narrowing down to 1 1/2″ where it meets the ridges from the other end. This side also has a gentle curve to target your g-spot.

You’ll want to be careful not to thrust too hard or fast with either end, at least until you’ve warmed up a bit, as the ball can catch on your bone inside and it will hurt.

Since it’s made of surgical grade stainless steel, the Eleven is easy to care for. It’s nonporous, phthalates-free, latex-free and hypoallergenic, and can be cleaned with water and antibacterial soap or your favorite toy cleaner. You can also run this through the dishwasher on the top rack – it won’t stain or spot.  It can also be boiled on the stove or washed with a 10% bleach solution. Once washed, the Eleven should be dried and polished with a soft cloth. All lubricants are safe to use with this toy, and you won’t need much to have it slick and ready to insert.

So, Does It Work? Emphatically yes! I was a bit worried of letting my husband use this on me, as he tends to get very enthusiastic as we get going. I told him to start with the smaller end first and it slipped comfortably in with minimal lubricant. Turned the right way, with the curve facing my front, it felt absolutely incredible! He used shallow thrusts and I could feel the ball hitting on my g-spot.

It didn’t take long for me to want to try the larger side. This side went in easily as well, and the full feeling of the metal was quite intense. My husband started with slow thrusts, but he did get going harder and faster, and I had a very intense orgasm. While I didn’t feel anything, my husband knew right away from all the wetness. I will claim this as my first squirting experience, although it was much different than I expected! I’m hoping that practice will make perfect and this is the start of many more to come.

My husband did have to switch arms frequently while using this on me, and he said it was quite an exercise for his arms. Hopefully with more use they’ll get stronger too. I’m glad he did switch arms fairly regularly, since I wouldn’t want him to have one arm like Popeye and the other like Shaggy from Scooby Doo!

I had thought to use this in the Liberator Wing, but it’s just a bit too short to make this usable in the pocket as a hands-free toy.

I really like the heaviness of the Eleven. While I didn’t notice much at the time, I was a bit sore after use. I would recommend starting out slowly and shallowly at first to give your body time to adjust – if you’re not ready the ball could catch and dash orgasm hopes.

While expensive, this has been worth every penny to me. It’s utterly fantastic!

X Marks the Orgasm?

I have to admit it: what drew me to the Pirate Duckie was simply the way he looks. This has to be one of the cutest vibrators I’ve ever seen, and dressed up as a pirate? When offered the chance to review this from EdenFantasys, how could I resist!

The Pirate Duckie comes packaged in a cardboard box with a Jolly Roger flag on the front, and product information on the back. Inside is a large laminated square Treasure Chest. Lifting the hinged lid reveals Pirate Duckie nestled on a bed of red satin, looking adorable and spry.

This Duckie is part of the travel-sized line, so he’s not tremendously large. From chest to tail it’s just 3 1/4″ long, and only 2 1/2″ high. It’s nicely colored, and “dressed” in pirate coat, frilly shirt, and button bars and accents. It even has an eye patch over its right eye. Pirate Duckie wears a bandanna, but also has a removable black pirate hat and looks fetching either way. It’s firm to the touch, with the clothing and detailing providing some texture.

This is a discreet vibrator, in the sense that most people wouldn’t realize that this was a sex toy if it were decorating your bathroom shelf or tub ledge. It really doesn’t look like something to get off with. It’s discreet in looks only however – this is one loud duck!

Pirate Duckie is powered by 1 AAA battery. The battery compartment is located on its bottom, and closes securely to keep this toy waterproof. The compartment is easiest to open by inserting a dime or thin pair of scissors into the indentation and turning the dial until the cap can be removed. The battery goes in negative side first, and it’s held securely in place. It’s a bit tricky to remove, but if you tap Pirate Duckie firmly against your hand, the battery will come out.

While the Pirate Duckie is waterproof, unfortunately he doesn’t float. Well, he floats, but more on his side. The battery doesn’t provide enough weight for the duckie to float on his bottom around the tub. I had hoped to see him spinning his way through bubbles on his way to deliver some pleasure.

The dial that controls the vibrations is located next to the battery compartment on the bottom. It’s a bit tricky to turn, but loosens up a bit after several uses. The Pirate Duckie only has one speed. Turning the dial turns it on, and the vibrations are loud. Using this in water amplifies them, so you’ll want some background noise on to ensure some privacy. The vibrations are buzzy and somewhat strong, but not as strong as you’d expect from the sound. They can be felt all over the Duckie.

This toy is made of TPR, which is latex free, phthalates free, and hypoallergenic. It’s easy to clean with water and antibacterial soap. If necessary water-based or silicone lubricants can be used.

So, Does It Work? Yes and no. As a cute, discreet toy, most definitely. For getting me to orgasm, not quite. I like that the Pirate Duckie is firm so I can get the pressure I need, but the vibrations are just too weak to get me off easily. I don’t mind the one speed, but I would have preferred it be stronger.

This was fun to play around with in the tub as a foreplay toy, but the thing that disappointed my husband and I the most was that Pirate Duckie didn’t float upright through the water.

You might like the Pirate Duckie if you don’t want or need strong clitoral vibrations to orgasm, or you want to keep a toy in plain sight in the bathroom. And it is awfully cute. It would make a great addition to a collection of duckies.

I have a video of the Pirate Duckie in action over at EdenFantasys so do make sure to check it out!

Resplendent In Rose

Sometimes I like soft and squishy dildos. Other times I like them hard as rocks for that extra g-spot stimulation or anal play. While metal is the material I prefer, glass comes in close, so I was happy to receive the Rose G-Spotter from Babeland to review.

The Rose G-Spotter is a lovely double-ended glass toy from Don Wands. This dildo comes simply packaged, and includes a wonderful black padded drawstring storage bag to keep the toy in when not in use. The bags that come with the Don Wands toys have to be some of my favorites – plushy and thick, and great at protection.

The coloring on this toy is pretty – it’s a rosy pink color and clear throughout. Depending on the light, it will shine through pink or rose, and is simply lovely. No seams or sharp edges here! This toy is 8” long measured along the curve (7” straight up and down). It’s on the petite side for a double sided toy, and both ends perform differently.

The g-spot end has a rounded tip that is 1 1/8” wide and 1 1/4″ long. This narrows down to about a 1” neck and is 4 1/2″ insertable. The bubbled end consists of a 1 1/4″ bulb atop two 1” bubbles. Each of the three is 1 1/4″ wide. These three sit atop a base that’s also 1 1/4″ wide, and allow 3” of insertable length. Because of the base in the center, either end can be used anally. The curved end can be used for prostate stimulation or comfortable insertion, while the other end can be used as a glass probe. While it doesn’t have a flared base, the length and the bulges make this relatively safe to use – it also helps when a partner uses it on you.

The Rose G-Spotter is made of Pyrex glass, so it’s nonporous, phthalates-free, and hypoallergenic. It’s also resistant to breaking, and won’t shatter if it breaks. Care should be taken not to drop it however, and it should always be checked for cracks or chips before use. It’s easy to clean – simply wash it with antibacterial soap and water. You can also run it through the dishwasher on the top rack if desired. Any lubricant is safe to use, and you won’t need a lot to make this toy slick and ready for use.

This is also fun for temperature play – you can run it under warm water or chill it in the refrigerator for more intense sensations.

So, Does It Work? While it was plenty hard enough to stimulate my g-spot, and long enough as well, I found this dildo just a bit thin for my liking. I liked the curved end the best this way, and it was a pleasant way to get aroused before moving up to a larger toy. The bubbled end didn’t do much for me vaginally at all.

I did enjoy this as an anal toy, however. The bubbled end was comfortable to insert and comfortable to keep in, and I enjoyed the curve and feel of the g-spot end. The g-spot end worked well for thrusting, and the slickness was immensely pleasurable.

We had fun doing some temperature play as well. I prefer warmed toys, but chilled for about 10 minutes really intensified the sensations for me on this.

The Rose G-Spotter is an inexpensive and lovely glass piece, and would be great if you like smaller, firmer toys. It’s also fun to use anally – nothing like a versatile piece!
