Tied Up, Wide, and Spread to the World

There’s nothing quite like a spreader bar. I always find myself closing my legs when I think I’ve had enough but my husband doesn’t, and a spreader bar is a great way to keep me open and exposed. I was intrigued by the Spread ‘Em Bar & Cuff Set from Pipedream, so I was happy to review this one for EdenFantasys.

This bar and cuff set is part of Pipedream’s Fetish Fantasy series. It includes a 25” spreader bar, a 12” spreader bar, four adjustable neoprene cuffs, an adjustable collar, and a mask. The collar isn’t listed in the contents or on the cardboard packaging, but it’s included all the same and makes for a nice, complete set.

Everything comes in a black bag which is just over 25” long. The bag has a woven nylon loop on the top that can be used to hang the set on a hook or in your closet out of the way. It also has a nylon handle for easy carrying. The bag zips open, and comes with a lock and 2 keys as well. The lock is a standard suitcase lock – it’s not that hard to open but can provide enough deterrent to keep the contents away from curious eyes.

The long bar just fits in the bag, and can be a bit tricky to insert and remove. It has rubber ends and 1” rings that are attached to a chain running through the bar. The rings swivel a bit, and you can pull each slightly out to allow for some adjustment if the cuffs are clipped to the ends. A ring is also located 8” from each end to which you can attach cuffs or chains.

The short bar is similar in construction, but it has 1 ring set in its center for attachment. Affixed to this ring is a nylon lead that can be extended to a 16” length (to the end of the lobster hook) or shortened to a length of 10”. This lead cannot be removed, unless you decide to cut it off.

The four cuffs are neoprene with a Velcro closure, and each is 2” wide with a swivel lobster hook attached so the cuffs will attach to any of the rings on the bars, or even to each other. The wrist cuffs are 10 1/2″ long (with Velcro covering 7 1/2″ of the cuff), and the ankle cuffs are 12” long (8 1/2″ of Velcro on the cuff). They can be adjusted to a wide range of ankle and wrist sizes and the Velcro keeps the cuffs firmly on.

The matching collar that’s included is 17” long and has a D-ring attached. Velcro covers 14”, so it can be adjusted quite a bit. You can clip the cuffs to the collar or use any lead as necessary.

The blindfold is just a thin piece of satin with an elastic strap. It’s not the most comfortable blindfold but it will do in a pinch, and it does block your vision.

The set is easy to clean. Both the bars and cuffs can be wiped down if necessary with water and dried. The blindfold can be tossed in the washer in a laundry bag and drip-dried or tumbled on low in the dryer.

So, Did It Work? This set is great!  I love how versatile it is and how the two bars can be used alone or together to create a different restraint. Cuff and connect ankles to the end of the large bar and wrists to its interior rings, and you are downright helpless. Put on the collar and clip the lead from the short bar to it, attach cuffed wrists to the bar, and your arms are restrained nicely. Want arms restrained behind the back? The small bar works well this way too. The large and small bar can be clipped together with the lead, and although it’s off-center, you are fully restrained and relatively immobile. We tried this every which way: standing, bent over, on hands and knees, and on my back, and it was a lot of fun.

I like how this comes with a matching collar, too – that was a bonus I wasn’t expecting. The blindfold is fine in a pinch, but I have another lightweight one that I keep in the bag.  I like the Velcro on the collar and cuffs, too – it makes for a quick release if necessary, but it’s also quite secure.

The bag is great – it’s compact and easy to store, and I love that it actually locks. The padlock would be easy to replace with something a little more secure, but this works for our needs just fine.

Overall, this is a great set and a lot of fun to use. Thank you to EdenFantasys for sending this to me for free to review! If you’d like to have some fun with the Spread ‘Em Bar & Cuff Set, you can pick this one up at EdenFantasys by clicking the widget below.

How Clean is Your Lube?

I’m pretty particular when it comes to lubricants. I used to use a lot of flavored ones until I found I had an allergy. Now I look for ones that are unflavored or have no taste, and steer clear of the multitude that have aspartame, which is, surprisingly, a common ingredient in many lubricants. I prefer my lubes water-based, as the majority of my toys are silicone. A long lasting lubricant is also a plus. While I do have my favorites, I’m always up to trying something new that meets those specifications, so I was happy to try Good Clean Love from Good Vibrations and see how it measured up.

Good Clean Love comes in a 4 ounce flip-top container. I love the design – the cap is on the bottom of the tube, so there’s never a need to flip it over and wait for the lube to pour down or have to shake it to get it to dispense. As the amount in the tube gets less, it’s easy to squeeze it out.

The tube is white and lime green (lighter than these pictures), with white lettering on the front and black text on the back. It’s fairly discreet, and has a nice fresh look.

This lubricant comes in two varieties: Almost Naked and Lavender Rose. I’m not partial to lavender so I chose to try Almost Naked. It’s not unscented, but the scent is very light and slightly citrusy. It’s virtually taste-free, but it does have a slight citrus note that’s clean and not unpleasant.

Good Clean Love is made by Good Clean Love, Inc. They are a member of the Organic Trade Association, and this lube contains 95% organic ingredients. It has no petrochemicals or parabens and is 100% vegan. Since it’s water based, it’s safe for use with latex and toys. Good Clean Love contains deionized water, xanthan gum, agar, organic aloe barbendensis leaf juice, natural extractives of lemon and vanilla bean, potassium sorbate, and benzoic acid.

Unlike a lot of lubricants I’ve used, Good Clean Love is thick like a gel. When dispensed onto your finger, it doesn’t run or drip. It isn’t greasy or sticky even when it dries out and doesn’t stain. It lasts a fairly long time and can be reactivated with a little bit of water or saliva.

So, Did It Work?  I liked this lubricant.  I found it great for vaginal sex, regardless of whether my partner or a toy was penetrating me. A dollop was plenty to get my toys or my partner slick.

I loved how it was thick coming out of the bottle, yet not clumpy or thick when applied.   Even though Almost Naked had a slight scent and taste, it was fresh and not very noticeable at all.

Almost Naked wasn’t bad for anal sex.  While it’s not as thick or long lasting as some of the anal lubes I use, it kept things pretty slippery.  We had to reapply it more during anal sex than vaginal, though, and this will be a lube we use more for vaginal penetration than anything else.

Party In the House

College. Sexual Experimentation. Freedom. Wild Parties. This is the stuff sorority house living and college campuses are made for (besides studying, of course), and the time when many young women try using a vibrator for the very first time. Shane’s World, which started the reality style of adult videos, is synonymous with crazy college partying and sex, and the brand also contains sex toys marketed through Cal Exotics. This month, as part of the Cal Exotics Sexpert program, I received the Shane’s World Sorority Party Vibe to review.

The Party Vibe comes in a clamshell case that’s easy to open, with the vibrator visible through both the front and back. The colorful insert contains product information, and inside the case is the vibrator and a small sheet with battery insertion details.

This is a simple traditional vibrator. It’s pretty, in a bright magenta color with silver accent band at the bottom which indicates the battery compartment separation. Made of Velvet Cote (ABS plastic with a PU coating), it’s smooth and satiny to the touch without any drag and has no smell or taste. The Party Vibe is 7 1/2” long with about 6” insertable and only 1” wide. It has a tapered tip to make insertion easier, and the tip also works well when used for clitoral stimulation. Since it doesn’t have a flared base, the Party Vibe should never be used anally.

The base unscrews to access the battery compartment. The Party Vibe takes 2 AA batteries, which should be inserted + side down. An O-ring sits below the threads to seal the battery compartment and make this suitable to use in the shower or bath.

This vibrator is easy to operate. A magenta colored tab sits up over the metal and is easy to turn the vibrations up and down with. The vibrations are strongest in the tip, but can also be felt well all down the shaft. They are steady and go from low to fairly high, strong, and quite buzzy. They are also fairly loud, although using the Party Vibe under a blanket muffles the sound, and it wouldn’t be heard from behind a closed door.

The Party Vibe is easy to clean before and after use with antibacterial soap and warm water. It can be dried with a soft towel. No storage bag is provided. The manufacturer recommends using a water-based lubricant.

So, Did It Work? This isn’t a bad little vibrator. It’s pretty basic in design and function without any bells and whistles, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. While the vibrations I didn’t find overwhelmingly strong, I did like using this for clitoral stimulation as it was easy to hold on to and the firmness of the material allowed me to get pressure on my clit. Internally it was all right, although a bit on the small side for me. I did like the tab that adjusted the vibrations. This made it easier to change the vibration level, particularly when my fingers were covered with lube.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending this to me to review as one of their Sexperts!
