Pump Me Up?

I’ve always wanted to try a pump. I’ve seen them for both full pussy pumping and just for the clit, and they look so intriguing. Pumps are supposed to increase blood flow to the genital area and create a more intense sensation during sex. The reviews on these types of products are less than stellar, so I have put off getting one time and time again. When Good Vibrations offered the Vibrating Pleasure Pump for review, I figured it was time to finally try one out and see how it worked.

The Vibrating Pleasure Pump from Good Vibrations comes in a pink and white box, with a full-sized picture of the product on the front and back. Some product information is on the sides of the box. Inside is the pump, 2 sleeves, 2 small sponges (one is a replacement), and a small paper with instructions.

The Pleasure Pump is designed for external use and to pump the clitoris and surrounding area. It can also be used on the nipples or on a man’s balls. It comes in two colors – I got the smoky black one. The device is 7” long overall, and made of a smoke translucent ABS plastic. The cup at the top is bout 1 1/2″ high and 1 1/8” wide. Inside, where this cup attaches to the neck, is where the sponge is folded and placed to prevent any lube from getting inside the unit and damaging the motor.

The neck is flexible, and a button located on the handle controls the speed of the vibration. There are three speeds – low, medium and high, all steady. The vibrations on the highest setting are moderately strong, and the pump is fairly quiet during use, although some background music will help mask the sound.

The batteries are inserted by twisting off the bottom of the unit where the tube is attached. The batteries go in one + side up, and one + side down. Alkaline batteries are recommended.

Two clear TPR sleeves are included. The sleeves are easy to slip over the top of the cup. One sleeve is filled with 10 prickly nubs, while the other has a slight raised bump in the center.

Attached to the unit is a 15” long tube which connects to the black pump. The pump is covered with hearts and has a heart shaped release valve to quickly release the pressure and lessen the suction of the cup.

To use the pump, the sleeve-covered cup goes over the desired area, the bulb is pumped to the desired suction level, and then the vibrations can optionally be turned on for more stimulation.

To clean the Vibrating Pleasure Pump, the sleeve and sponge should first be removed. If necessary, the sponge can be washed and thoroughly dried. The sleeves can be washed in warm water and antibacterial soap. The cylinder shouldn’t be placed under running water – rather it should be dipped, open side down, into water. It can also be wiped with a soap and water cloth and dried.

So, Did It Work? The Vibrating Pleasure Pump is … interesting, and not quite what I expected. The sleeves were easy to put over the cup, and it wasn’t hard to position it over my clit. The first pump of the bulb was, well, wow. It wasn’t a crazy suction, but I could feel it pulling at my clit like when my husband would do it with his mouth. The suction kept up well.

The vibrations I could mostly feel around my clit, but not directly on it, even on high. Every so often I had to pump the bulb again, and I’d get a bit more suction which would tease my clit. I had thought I could pump and release over and over, mimicking a sucking sensation, but the release valve didn’t seem to clear the suction all the way so I’d have to wait for a bit for the suction to ease to pump the bulb. When I did, though, the suction pulled my clit out and …wow, what a sensation.

The pump wasn’t enough to get me off on its own, or even with another toy. It was pleasurable, though, during foreplay sessions as it was quite a tease. And it was…interesting. It worked fairly well on my nipples, but since it’s only a single head you can only do one at a time, and it reminded me too much of a regular breast pump.  My husband wouldn’t let it near him, so I don’t know how well it would work on his more intimate parts. I’m not sure how much I really like this yet, or if it will grow on me more, but I’m glad I finally got a chance to try it out.

How Clean is Your Lube?

I’m pretty particular when it comes to lubricants. I used to use a lot of flavored ones until I found I had an allergy. Now I look for ones that are unflavored or have no taste, and steer clear of the multitude that have aspartame, which is, surprisingly, a common ingredient in many lubricants. I prefer my lubes water-based, as the majority of my toys are silicone. A long lasting lubricant is also a plus. While I do have my favorites, I’m always up to trying something new that meets those specifications, so I was happy to try Good Clean Love from Good Vibrations and see how it measured up.

Good Clean Love comes in a 4 ounce flip-top container. I love the design – the cap is on the bottom of the tube, so there’s never a need to flip it over and wait for the lube to pour down or have to shake it to get it to dispense. As the amount in the tube gets less, it’s easy to squeeze it out.

The tube is white and lime green (lighter than these pictures), with white lettering on the front and black text on the back. It’s fairly discreet, and has a nice fresh look.

This lubricant comes in two varieties: Almost Naked and Lavender Rose. I’m not partial to lavender so I chose to try Almost Naked. It’s not unscented, but the scent is very light and slightly citrusy. It’s virtually taste-free, but it does have a slight citrus note that’s clean and not unpleasant.

Good Clean Love is made by Good Clean Love, Inc. They are a member of the Organic Trade Association, and this lube contains 95% organic ingredients. It has no petrochemicals or parabens and is 100% vegan. Since it’s water based, it’s safe for use with latex and toys. Good Clean Love contains deionized water, xanthan gum, agar, organic aloe barbendensis leaf juice, natural extractives of lemon and vanilla bean, potassium sorbate, and benzoic acid.

Unlike a lot of lubricants I’ve used, Good Clean Love is thick like a gel. When dispensed onto your finger, it doesn’t run or drip. It isn’t greasy or sticky even when it dries out and doesn’t stain. It lasts a fairly long time and can be reactivated with a little bit of water or saliva.

So, Did It Work?  I liked this lubricant.  I found it great for vaginal sex, regardless of whether my partner or a toy was penetrating me. A dollop was plenty to get my toys or my partner slick.

I loved how it was thick coming out of the bottle, yet not clumpy or thick when applied.   Even though Almost Naked had a slight scent and taste, it was fresh and not very noticeable at all.

Almost Naked wasn’t bad for anal sex.  While it’s not as thick or long lasting as some of the anal lubes I use, it kept things pretty slippery.  We had to reapply it more during anal sex than vaginal, though, and this will be a lube we use more for vaginal penetration than anything else.

Charm Me

Since I wear a lot of open bust lingerie (if I wear any at all) and often collars, I like to have a variety of nipple clamps and jewelry to accessorize with. I don’t necessarily like them painful, but I do like a bit of pinch, and I want to be able to feel them when they’re on. Tweezer clamps seem to work the best for me, so I thought I’d try the Nipple Charmers Beaded Tweezer Clamps from Good Vibrations .

The Beaded Tweezer Clamps (called Fresh Beaded Nipple Clamps on the box) come in an easy to open clamshell case. The clamps are visible through the front of the package, and the back features some pictures of other clamps available from PHS International. The clamps come in blue or pink, and I chose the blue ones, as they go with more that I have.

These clamps are pretty, and they are inexpensively priced. They are 4 1/2″ long overall, from the tip of the tweezers to the bottom of the charms. The charm is 1 7/8” long, and dangles nicely from the tweezer end. Each charm consists of a small dark blue bead, a larger light blue bead, and a silver star on the end. The beads are translucent, and add a nice look. They hang on a small loop, and don’t have a tendency to kink up or get tangled but rather hang straight down and sway with your movement.

The tweezer is adjusted by sliding up a small bar. The farther up you slide it, the tighter the tweezer will grip your nipple. The tweezers are tipped with rubber to make these clamps comfortable, but if you like a bit more pain with your clamps you can remove these tips and have the metal of the tweezer dig more into your nipples.

The clamps work well for larger nipples since they are so adjustable, and will work for smaller ones as well.

If you need to clean these clamps, a simple wipe with a washcloth and dry with a towel should do the trick just fine.

So, Did They Work? I love this style of clamp, and these did work well for me. They were easy to put on, and stayed in place well. I could feel them squeezing on my nipples, and they weren’t painful (except when my husband pulled them off) but provided constant sensation.  They really looked nice, especially paired with white and blue collar and cuffs. I don’t think there’s anything quite like the look of charms dangling from your aroused nipples!

Will You Seduce Me?

You can never have too many anal toys. At least that’s the philosophy I subscribe to. Whether they’re probes or plugs, beads or dildos, it’s always good to have a variety. After all, variety is the spice of my sex life. I saw the Don Juan Silicone Anal Toy offered for review from Good Vibrations, and it looked interesting, so I decided to give it a try.

The Don Juan comes in an easy to open clamshell case, with the toy visible through the front. The insert contains product information which can be read from the back.

This is a fun looking plug. It’s about 4” tall, and consists of 3 thin eggs each about 1” wide, that are joined in a gentle curve at the ends and to the base. No seams are visible. The matte black color is nice, and the silicone surface has a bit of drag to it. The base is soft and flexible, longer than it is wide, and it makes the Don Juan comfortable to seat firmly when it’s fully inserted.

Inserting the Don Juan is easy, since it isn’t very large. The rounded tip and narrow diameter make it simple to push in, and the silicone isn’t so soft that it won’t go in. If necessary, a break can be taken between inserting each bead. Once it’s all the way in, the Don Juan is pretty comfortable.

Since this doesn’t have much of a neck, it won’t stay in place easily if you move around or aren’t sitting on it. If you’re wearing it with underwear or pants, they will keep it held in, but it won’t stay seated and will come out if you’re using this during naked play.

Since it’s silicone, the Don Juan is odorless, phthalates-free, non-porous, hypoallergenic, and easy to clean. It should be washed both before and after use with soap and water and patted dry. It can also be boiled or washed in the dishwasher on the top rack. The box it comes in isn’t the best for storing, but you can stand it upright on a shelf or keep it in a toy bag.

So, Did It Work? I liked the Don Juan. While it’s small in size, the beads are fun to insert, and it was very comfortable to wear. While I would have preferred wearing this without something holding it in, a pair of underwear did the trick just fine. It also worked well as a warm-up for larger anal toys.

I’m Your Venus…That You Desire

Is there anything better than clitoral stimulation? While I enjoy vaginal, g-spot, and anal, nothing’s quite like getting off with something, whether it’s a finger or a vibrator, teasing and toying with my clit. And having an orgasm that way is easily the most intense that I have. I love trying out new clitoral vibrators, so I was excited to get the Blue Venus from Good Vibrations to review.

The Blue Venus comes in a shiny cardboard box with an actual size picture of the toy on the front. As a whole, it rather resembles a hooded, faceless, cloaked figure (I know, it’s close to Halloween, and I have ghosts and ghouls on the brain). The sides and back of the box contain information about the product and its features.

This clitoral vibrator is a beautiful robin’s egg blue. It’s made of phthalates-free ABS plastic with a velvet coating, so it’s smooth and soft to the touch with just the slightest bit of drag, yet firm and inflexible. The Blue Venus is 6 1/2″ long, so it’s easy to hold on to while stimulating your clit.

The front “face” is an indentation that’s about 7/8” wide and 1 1/2″ tall. This side can be used to cup your clit and direct vibrations both on and around it. The back side has a nub that angles out from the top. It’s about 1/2″ long, and can be used to pinpoint the vibrations.

The base of the Blue Venus is made of shiny plastic in the same color as the rest of the toy. Turning it 1/4 of the way and lifting it off reveals the battery compartment. The Blue Venus takes 2 AA batteries, which should be inserted + side first. The batteries fit snugly inside the body of this vibrator which keeps them from rattling around and making this toy louder, but they can be tricky to remove.  You’ll have to give this a few taps to make them come out.  An O-ring sits at the base of the cap to make the Blue Venus waterproof – just make sure you have the base firmly attached before taking this into the shower or tub.

To turn on the Blue Venus, simply turn the bottom of the base. The vibrations are steady, and range from low to high vibrations. On low, the vibrations are really throbby and quite quiet, while on high they’re a bit buzzier (although still throbby) and substantially louder, so you’ll want to have some background music or sound on to mask the fact that you’re using this. They are strongest in the tip, but can also be felt down through the body and may make your hand a bit numb.

The Blue Venus is easy to clean. It can be washed with antibacterial soap and warm water and patted dry. It can be stored in the box it came in, or a drawstring storage bag. It can also be stored standing upright or lying in a drawer. Since it’s made of plastic, both water-based and silicone lubricants can be used if necessary.

So, Did It Work? I liked the feel of the vibrations on this one. When using the cupped side and pressing down, I could feel the rumbles through my clit and labia. They felt good with the nub as well, and I actually liked using that side better. I found with the nub that a lighter touch was more stimulating and I could really use the nub to tease my clit. In fact, a lighter touch got me to orgasm faster than hard grinding.

This worked well in the bathtub, although it was a bit louder than when I used it on the bed.  I didn’t have any problems with water getting into the battery compartment, even after having this submerged for quite a while.

One thing I found was that the Blue Venus gets hot – and I mean uncomfortably hot – when it’s used for more than about 20 minutes on the highest vibration. This isn’t good for long stimulation, so if you want to use this more to warm up or tease yourself, you will need to watch the temperature. If you use a light pressure and focus on climaxing, you’ll finish before this noticeably heats up.

Overall, the Blue Venus is a nice clitoral vibrator, with different sensations depending on the side – cupped or nubbed – that you use for stimulation. It’s strong, waterproof, and fun to use, and will work best if you like using lighter pressure.
