It’s hard to believe that the summer is about half over already! The weather’s been hot, and there are few things better at night than to lie in front of a fan and masturbate with a vibrator or two. This month, as part of the Cal Exotics’ Sexpert Program, I received the Silicone Gyration Sensations Gyrating 10-Function Tickler for free in exchange for this review.
The Gyrating Tickler comes in a cardboard box with a picture of the toy on the front and product information on the back. Inside the box are the control, bullet, and silicone sleeve, sealed in plastic, and a small universal instruction pamphlet. This toy comes in two fun colors, purple, and orange. I received mine in orange, and it’s that great Tic Tac color, warm and vibrant.
The silicone sleeve is about 6” long overall (5 1/4” straight up and down), and its shaft is 3 1/2” insertable. The head is rounded and about 1 1/4” at its widest. The tip and upper part of the shaft are quite firm, while the shaft flexes lower down. The flexible clit stimulator is about 1 3/4” long and 1” wide. The top of its tip is covered with silicone nubs for extra stimulation.
The ABS plastic bullet is somewhat bell-shaped, with a 1 1/4” diameter at its widest diameter, and 1” at the bottom. It’s attached to a long cord ending in a universal jack, which allows you to use it with any other jacked controller if you want a different set of patterns or more power. The bullet can be used alone, but it also (with a considerable amount of difficulty) can be inserted into the bottom of the sleeve.
The controller looks like a long, oversized Tic Tac, and it’s also made of ABS plastic. The base unscrews to reveal the battery compartment, and a slide-out tray holds 2 AAA batteries. The tray can only be inserted one way into the controller’s body, and once it’s in and the base is attached, the Gyrating Tickler is ready to use.
The controller has just one button on the front. Pressing the button once will turn it on (it will start at the pattern after the one you shut the toy off on), and subsequent presses will cycle through the 10 vibration and pattern settings. There are three steady vibrations (high, medium, and low), and 7 pulsing and escalating patterns. The light behind the button will glow or flash to the vibration or pattern the Gyrating Tickler is on.
The vibrations are moderate and rumbly, not buzzy like you might expect. They are fairly quiet, especially when the bullet is inside the sleeve, and the sleeve is inserted. They travel decently down both the shaft and the clitoral arm.
This toy is easy to clean, even though it isn’t waterproof, and each piece can be cleaned separately. Both the sleeve and the bullet can be washed before and after use with water and antibacterial soap and water and dried, a toy cleaner, or toy wipe, and dried before storing. The controller can be wiped down with a wet washcloth and dried off if necessary. The box won’t hold up for long-term storage, but storing this in a toybag or drawer will work fine. Water-based lube is recommended, but if you want to use a silicone base, test it on the bottom of the sleeve before use.
So, Did It Work? Some things about this toy worked well. The bullet alone had deeper vibrations than I expected, and I liked the variety of patterns and vibrations. It could have had more power behind it – I did try it with another remote I have that uses AA batteries, and the vibrations were stronger and easier for me to get the first orgasm. After the first one, the vibrations with the original controller were strong enough to keep me going….or coming, as the case may be. I liked that the sleeve was made of silicone, and it was easy to insert. With the bullet in, the vibrations traveled well throughout the sleeve, both to the head and through the clitoral arm (the arm could be a bit longer for me, but I was able to get it pretty well situated).
Getting the sleeve on and off the bullet is, however, a real challenge. My husband had to put the bullet in, as I could not get it in no matter how hard I tried, and even though he did this a few times, it didn’t get much easier. Lubing the bullet helped, but it was still tough for him (and impossible for me) to do. I could get the bullet out by rolling the bottom of the sleeve and really working it – it’s good that it stays completely in place when it’s in the sleeve, but it should be easier to put it in and take it out. Could you leave it in? You could, but toys like this I like to be able to use the sleeve and bullet separately. Considering the amount of pulling, rolling, and twisting the bottom of the sleeve endured during our attempts with the bullet, I will say that the material didn’t rip or appear to stretch at all.
