Let’s travel down memory lane.

Home:
1. Your current home: House? Apartment? Trailer? Condo? Other?
My current home is a house – ranch style, with a basement.

2. Which is bigger, your childhood home or your current home?
I think my current home is bigger than my childhood home…although my yard is smaller.
3. Which is better childhood home or current home? Why?
I think my current home is better now – I like my home, and I’ve made memories here.

School:
4. What was your favorite subject in school? (consider high school, college, grad school). Why was this your favorite subject?
Hmmm…that’s a tough one. I always loved art class, but I also really liked forensic anthropology and Latin.

Art was awesome because I loved to draw, and paint, and sculpt…and I always thought I wasn’t half bad at it.

Forensic anthropology was just fascinating – I don’t think I ever learned so much in a class. I also had the opportunity to meet a coroner who REALLY loved his job…and had the pictures to prove it.

Latin was fun because we did a lot of competitions and it was easy. If things had been a bit different, I might have even become a Latin teacher.

5. Are you currently working in a field that you studied in college?
Yes, I am. Although it’s not quite what I thought I’d be doing.

Job:
6. Describe your first job.
My first job (not counting babysitting) was in high school at a fast food restaurant at the mall that we affectionately called “Beef & Barf.”  It was fun, mostly, although I had a real lecherous boss. Running the counter was easy, and if I worked the back it was preparing BBQ pork and beef sandwiches, and wrangling with a deep fryer. The worst thing was when we’d pressure cook the pork roasts, and then have to shred them by hand when they were still hot. All that grease was probably good for my hands, but it was really gross.

7. What was your favorite job and why?
I think my favorite job was as a teaching assistant in grad school. I really liked teaching labs and classes, and I often think it’s something I should have pursued.

Bonus: What haven’t we talked about in TMI Tuesday that you would like to discuss?
Hmmm…in the time I’ve been playing this, there’s been way too many topics to remember! Maybe movies, books, or foods.

 1. At work, what sets you apart from others?
Hmmm…I would say my ability to talk to people on the phone. I’ve always been told to smile when you’re talking to someone, and that comes across in your voice – and I have a way with talking to upset customers that seems to make them happy.

2. When it comes to sex appeal, what sets you apart from others?
I would say my confidence. I don’t think you can have sex appeal if you’re not confident, and I think the way I carry myself makes my sex appeal shine.

3. What are the big imbalances in your life?
One of the biggest imbalances is probably my work time to my free time. It sometimes seems like I work more than I play.

4. What is it that your family and close friends cannot do that only you can do?
Hmmm….all I can think of right off is that I do everything left-handed, and they can’t do anything left-handed.

5. Are you flexible enough?
I think I could be more flexible, but overall I think I’m flexible enough…both physically and mentally.

Bonus: What was the best news you received in 2016?
I think the best news I received was that I wasn’t in danger of losing my job for at least another year.

1. If you were forced to wear a warning label, what would yours say?
Mine would say “Warning: Needs Lots of Love and Attention.”

2. If you were a Sesame Street character, which one would you be??
Hmmm…I think I’d be Snuffleupagus – sweet, quiet, and unseen except by those that truly loved me.

3. If you could have an endless supply of a candy or baked good, what would you get?
I don’t really eat candy and baked goods much…I guess if I had to pick something, it would be dill onion bread. If you mean it has to be sweet, then I’d go for matcha Kit Kats.

4. Who is your favorite villain? Why??
My favorite villain is probably Hannibal Lecter. I think a good villain has to have some qualities that make them interesting and make you like them in a way…maybe like isn’t the right word, but they should be fascinating and intricate. Lecter is just so much fun.

5. Are you more in tune with sunrise, daytime, sunset or nighttime?
I think I’m most in tune with night time. I’m really a night person.

Bonus: If you took a job out of your current career path, what job would your take?
I would be an artist – a painter – or a writer. Hopefully I’d be successful enough to make a living at it!

TMI Tuesday: Questions

1. True or False: Falling in love is a serious thing to do? Explain.
T
rue. You don’t just fall in and out of love – it’s a huge emotional commitment.

2. Finish this sentence: I never knew _pain and joy____ like this.

3. Would you rather swim with sharks that you know have recently bitten people or swallow live worms? Why did you make that choice?
I would swallow live worms, I think. Sharks terrify me, and I’m sure they’d be biting me in no time…how many worms would I have to swallow?

4. What is beautiful and most appealing about you?
Hmmm….I think my smile. When I’m truly happy and I smile, I’ve been told it lights up my eyes.

5. What time is it RIGHT NOW? What were you doing before you started to play TMI Tuesday?
Right now it’s 7:08PM. I was having dinner before starting to play TMI Tuesday tonight – ham, cheese, mushroom, and onion omelettes, and bacon on the side.

Bonus: Are you a little bit damaged? How so?
Of course – isn’t everyone? So many factors go into damaging someone…I’d say I’m more damaged emotionally than physically.

TMI Tuesday: Happy New Year!

1. How is your year going?
Well, considering it’s just 3 days in, I’d say pretty good.

2. Did you go out on NYE or have a New Year’s day celebration?
No, although I would have liked to! I stayed home and watched some movies and ate some snacks, and tried in vain to actually see the new year in…i was close though.

3. Ahh yes, those pesky New Year’s Resolutions. How did you do with your 2016 NY resolutions–did you keep them??
Some of them.

  • I did keep up with studying – not as much as I wanted to, but enough to feel like I learned a lot.
  • I didn’t really post more on my blog, but I didn’t post less.
  • I have kept writing, although I didn’t submit as many stories as I wanted to – but I do intend to be better about that this year.
  • I did get in better shape…again, not as much as I wanted to, but definitely an improvement over the previous year.
  • And I did up my bench press and squats quite a bit. I haven’t stopped being afraid, either, but I feel like I made progress.

4. Year 2017, are you carrying over any resolutions from 2016? What?
All of them, actually. They were good resolutions, and I want to do better keeping them this year.

5. What new experiences are you planning to have or hoping to have in 2017?
I’ll be traveling out of the country for the first time, and I’m very excited for that.

Bonus: Did you see fireworks on New Year’s eve? (Take that anyway you want :-p )
On TV, yes. And you can take that any way you want 🙂
