Fall is officially here, and with it comes cooler weather, possible snow, and new toys from Cal Exotics. This month, I got to review the Platinum Edition Personal Pleasurizer as part of their Sexpert program.
The Personal Pleasurizer comes in a white cardboard box adorned with a picture of the product on the front and side, while the back lists some of the toy’s features. Inside the box is the Personal Pleasurizer and a small battery instruction sheet.
This vibrator comes in three colors: blue, pink, and purple. I received mine in purple, and it’s a pretty shade of light grape with shimmers throughout. It’s made of TPR (the sleeve) and ABS plastic (the cap and base), and it’s scent-free, phthalates free, and body safe. The material is squishy and a bit sticky, so it’ll pick up lint and hair like crazy. You’ll want to wash the Personal Pleasurizer both before and after use with a mild antibacterial soap and warm water. A soft brush can be used on the bristles if necessary. Water-based lube is recommended.
The Personal Pleasurizer is about 7 1/4″ long overall, with just 2 3/4″ insertable. What makes it so long is the attached clitoral scoop and the base. The tip is flat on one side for g-spot contact, and the neck is extremely flexible. If you need pressure on your g-spot to orgasm, this probably won’t do the trick, as the neck bends and flexes with your body.
The clitoral scoop is about 1 1/2″ long, and inside the scoop are lots of tickling nubs. They’re very soft and flexible, and if the scoop fits you right, they’ll cover your clit and surrounding area, transmitting the vibrations of the Personal Pleasurizer nicely.
This vibrator is powered by 2 AAA batteries. The battery compartment is accessed by twisting the base counterclockwise about 1/4 turn. Direction for the battery direction is clearly labeled on the plastic. An O-ring seals the base and cap together, so the Original can be used in the tub. No water was found to get into the battery compartment during either baths or showers. The batteries should be removed when the Personal Pleasurizer isn’t in use to preserve their life.
One thing I love about many vibrators is the multiple patterns that they offer, and the Platinum Edition Personal Pleasurizer comes with 9 different functions. These are cycled through by the single button on the bottom of the base. The patterns are:
- Low, steady vibration
- Medium, steady vibration
- High, steady vibration
- 4 pulses, then a pause, repeats
- 2 long pulses followed by a very long pulse and a pause, repeats
- 3 short pulses followed by 1 medium pulse, repeats
- Long pulses with a long pause in between
- 5 short pulses and 1 medium pulse, repeats
- 5 pulses, with the last two slightly longer than the first 3, repeats
The next push of the button turns the Personal Pleasurizer off – you must cycle through all the patterns.
The vibrator is located right below the clitoral nubs, so the strongest vibrations are felt here. They are felt up the shaft as well, but it isn’t nearly as strong. The vibrations aren’t very loud, and are easily masked by background noise like music or a TV.
So, Does it Work? The Personal Pleasurizer didn’t work as well for me as I had hoped. The insertable portion was too flexible (I need much firmer pressure on my g-spot), and it mostly just provided vibrations inside. Which would have been fine if the scoop fit me right. With the vibrator right below the nubs, the vibrations in this part are decently strong, and the nubs feel quite nice. It’s too short, though, to have inserted and have the scoop cover the area I want it to cover – I end up with the end of the scoop almost on my clit. I can get it positioned almost right, but I really have to pull it forward, so the insertable portion isn’t inserted for me as it should be. I’d love to have something like this with just the clit scoop alone – that part is delightful.
I liked the amount of vibrations – they were great for warming up with. The pulse patterns were varied, and there were a few I’d love to see used more! It would be nice to have a way to turn this off quickly, though, instead of having to cycle through all of the patterns.
