Kink Of The Week: Bastinado

I love my feet. They aren’t the prettiest around, but I do think they look nice with painted nails, or in high heel shoes. My feet have taken a fair amount of abuse, since I used to dance (ballet among other things), and dancers aren’t the most careful with their feet. Blisters? Pop them, douse them with alum, and continue. Blood? A few Band-Aids will do. Ripped off a toenail or two? Grin and bear it. Plenty of soaking and rubbing afterwards often helped, but a lot of the pain, in the arch, ankle, and elsewhere, took a long time to go away.

I’m not huge into pain. I can take it on my ass with a crop or a flogger, and even my nipples like a pinch or two, but after enough abuse, my feet like to be pampered. No one, no how, will be hitting my feet with a cane, rod, paddle, or anything else that will make them hurt and me likely scream. And not a good scream.

I’ve seen it done in a few shoots on Kink (although I never knew the name for it, or that it was a specific kink, before this Kink Of The Week), but always in conjunction with caning on other parts of the body. After I looked it up, I found quite a few websites dedicated to the practice, and there’s even a fair number of videos on YouTube. Watching it doesn’t do anything for me, except to make me cringe a bit, because I can imagine how much it hurts.

Would I watch it at a public scene? Possibly, but it wouldn’t be a turn on. Would I do it? Hells no. It may be a turn-on for some, but definitely not for me. The only kind of bastinado I’ll get off to will be the music, with the drummer beating the drums with a stick.

  1. I can see why having danced would make this much less erotic. Your feet have had a lot of wear and tear already! I had a much less intense aversion to this that was caused by the fact that I’m horribly clumsy. -_-

  2. It has been really interesting seeing other peoples’ points of view of this – it’s one of my favourite things! That said, I also get very little from watching other people experience it (especially when it looks like they’re having a miserable time…

Thanks for sharing your perspective. It’s given me some interesting food for thought.

    • I imagine it’s quite different to experience than to watch – I would for sure be one of those people looking absolutely miserable.

  3. I am on the fence about bastinado, even after having experienced it. I totally get why you would not want to hurt your feet after having been a dancer, though. And also that you don’t find it erotic either – neither do I. But there’s something about it…I don’t know. Guess I need to write a bit on it. πŸ™‚

  4. Bastinado’s not my thing either! Watching them in porn is a turnoff rather than a turn-on for me. πŸ™„

    • It’s not a turnoff for me in porn, but not a turn-on either – there are other things I’d much rather watch πŸ™‚
