Is anything better than chocolate? Or the feeling you get from eating it? The aroma that tickles your senses when you sniff, the semi-orgasmic rush when it melts in your mouth – can anything be better than that? Nomi Tang’s Better Than Chocolate vibrator that I received from EdenFantasys certainly is for me.
The Better than Chocolate comes elegantly packaged. The outer box covering is discreet and has a picture on one side with information on the bottom in several languages. Under the covering is a lovely white, hinged box with the Nomi Tang logo in white all over and a larger logo on the center of the lid. The box can be used to store the Better Than Chocolate, or reused to hold other items. The Better Than Chocolate is also guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Inside, the Better Than Chocolate rests on a white padded insert, and it certainly looks nice. It’s a deep plum color. Underneath the Better Than Chocolate in the box are an instruction manual and a white velvet drawstring bag for storage.
The Better Than Chocolate is a nice size. It’s 4 1/4″ long and 2 1/2″ wide at its widest point. The bottom is curved to nestle against your clitoris and labia, and the top is shaped with an indentation to make holding and using it quite comfortable. There is a seam that runs around the Better Than Chocolate at its sides, but it can barely be felt and is not noticeable when in use. The surface is smooth, with a matte finish, and has a bit of drag when you run your fingers over it.
The top features a unique touch sensor which allows you to change the strength of it with the slide of a finger. A clear, removable film is overlayed on the sensor, indicating direction for strength, locking location, and pattern change location.
The batteries are inserted towards the back end of the Better Than Chocolate by twisting off the base. The base is hard to get off the first time but much easier after that. It turns to the left about 1/4 turn and pops off. The battery direction is clearly labeled inside the base. When you put the base back on, be sure you have it aligned correctly – you can put it on backwards.
The Better Than Chocolate is easy to use. Simply press the button located on the base. The Better Than Chocolate starts out in a steady vibration mode that’s actually quite strong. The LED light on the bottom end of the touch sensor (the Nomi Tang logo) pulses blue. The vibrations can be increased by gently sliding your finger along this sensor. The intensity of the vibrations on high are surprisingly strong, especially considering the Better Than Chocolate only uses 2 AAA batteries! The vibrations are strongest in the tip, but transmit well throughout the Better Than Chocolate. All of the vibrations are deeper and more rumbly, unlike vibrators that have a tingly surface vibration. This makes the Better Than Chocolate quite effective. While the vibrations aren’t earth-shaking, they are deep and very stimulating.
To change the vibration pattern, simply touch the bottom of the sensor (the end furthest from the tip) for about 2 seconds. The Better Than Chocolate can be cycled through 3 modes. The first mode is the steady vibration. A pulse mode, and a revving pulse (quickly from medium to high) are also available.
When you find a pattern/intensity that you like, simply touch the lock area at the top of the touch sensor for 2 seconds. The LED light will glow red, indicating the Better Than Chocolate is locked. One thing that I really like about the touch sensor is that it doesn’t take much pressure to change modes, vibration, or lock/unlock the Better Than Chocolate.
The Better Than Chocolate is waterproof up to 1 meter (about 3 feet) and will lock automatically when the sensor is covered with liquid. If you plan on using this in the shower or bath, you’ll want to set the speed/pattern before you start. The Better Than Chocolate will unlock once the touch sensor is dry, but that can be tricky to do in the shower.
The Better Than Chocolate is made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and polycarbonate. It is latex-free and phthalate free. It should be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap, or you can use a toy cleaner if you prefer.
Both silicone and water-based lubricants are safe to use with the Better Than Chocolate.
Never fully insert the Better Than Chocolate in your vagina or anus. This is a toy meant for external stimulation. It can be used all over your body, from your neck and shoulders down to your belly and below. It feels particularly good, however, when you use it between your legs. The vibrations are fantastic on the clitoris, and the whole area is stimulated with the Better Than Chocolate nestled in the labia.
The Better Than Chocolate works great alone, or with a partner. I found the contouring of this vibrator fit me well. I didn’t have trouble using other toys with this and also had no trouble holding this between our bodies during sex. My husband enjoyed the vibrations as well. Since it’s firm, I was able to apply the pressure I need clitorally to reach orgasm. The slider bar was easy to use, and I loved being able to lock the vibrations and pattern where I wanted. I would have loved to have a few more patterns, however.
This is truly a great vibrator and a pleasure to use. I’d take this over chocolate any day!
