I make a lot of lists…grocery lists, to do lists, exercise lists, a bucket list, Christmas lists, lists of lists…it’s a maddeningly endless cycle. Granted there are some things I don’t make lists for…but I’d be hard pressed to name one right now.
Grocery lists are essential when I go shopping. I’m an avid coupon user, and I also use a lot of rebate apps, so I always plan out what I’m buying and where, as well as what coupons and rebates I can use. Do I buy things off of the list? Of course. But the list does keep me focused, so I can get my grocery shopping done in under 2 hours.
I have a lot of to do lists, many of which are day-to-day: appointments, meetings, study time, meals, activities – you name it. Exercise lists help me keep track of what I’m doing at the gym so I stay on goal.
Of course, I have a bucket list – doesn’t every one? I don’t have a lot marked off yet, but items are slowly but surely coming off. And there’s a sexual bucket list as well…
I make extensive lists for Christmas, including what I’m buying for each person and what I’m making for them. I also end up with cooking lists – what to make, how many I need, what ingredients, etc. I also have card lists for this time of year, so I know who I need to send wishes to.
It almost sounds like I can’t function without lists, but I can.- they just give me that additional help organizing so I manage to get things done.
