I like to have a variety of lubes, and I’ve found some work much better than others. I’d been curious about the new line of Wicked Aqua lubes (which includes original, sensitive, and flavored versions), so I was happy when EdenFantasys sent me the Sensitive version to try out.
Wicked Aqua Sensitive is a thin water-based lube. It works best during vaginal penetration, but it can also be used on toys successfully (depending on their surface). This lube provides extra lubrication that isn’t sticky or oily, and it contains vitamin E, aloe, allantoin, and olive leaf extract for extra moisturization. It is vegan and safe to use with condoms. It’s also hypoallergenic, glycerin and paraben free, pH balanced, and ideal for sensitive users. As always, check the label if you have any sensitivities or allergies.
This lube comes in a plastic bottle covered in shrink-wrapped plastic. The bottle itself holds 120 ml (4 oz) of lube. It’s fairly elegant looking, with a silver band below the lid and silver and gold text. The cap is black, while the bottle is a dark, smoky grey – you can see through it if it’s in front of a light source, but on the counter or in the medicine cabinet it appears opaque. It’s nice to be able to see through the bottle, as you can tell how much lube you have left. Information on the product and the ingredient list are on the back. It’s too large to travel in a carry-on, but it can travel in checked baggage. Be sure to place it inside a Ziploc bag, however, as the lid doesn’t lock securely enough to stop the product from dispensing.
The bottle has a pump top, which I really like for lubes. When the cap is aligned to the front or side of the bottle, one pump will squirt out a quarter to half dollar sized amount. If the cap is turned to the back, it will dispense a dime-sized amount.
Aqua Sensitive is very thin, and runs quickly once it comes into contact with your skin, much like water off a rose petal. It isn’t greasy or oily, and it won’t rub into your skin immediately. If it dries on your skin, it feels smooth and not sticky or tacky at all.
The lube is unscented, but it has a slightly bitter taste so it’s not ideal for oral. It works beautifully for vaginal intercourse and also clitorally; it lasts quite well, although it will need to be reapplied for marathon sessions. Since it is so thin, it’s not a good choice for anal sex.
Although it’s great for intercourse, Wicked Sensitive will be hit or miss with toy use. If the toy is fairly smooth and slick (made of plastic, wood, or a very smooth silicone), or made of glass, it works pretty well. For highly textured toys or toys with grab, it doesn’t make them as slick as I’d like.
Aqua Sensitive doesn’t seem to stain material, and it’s easy to clean up with just a wet washcloth.
So, Did It Work? I like this lube for sex. It dispensed a good amount with just one or two pumps, and it stayed slick for both hand jobs and intercourse without us having to reapply much (the one exception was during a very long session). It didn’t leave us feeling sticky afterwards, at least not from the lube. Both of us liked how easy it was to wash off. I didn’t care for this for oral – even though the bitter taste is slight, it’s present, and I didn’t like it at all. It was also way too thin and dried out too quickly for anal, so we definitely won’t be using it that way again.
For toy use, this was hit or miss. I usually use thicker water-based lubes when I play, as they work with everything. Wicked Sensitive doesn’t. For smooth or glass toys, like Mona, Icicles No. 17, or Fling, it’s great and makes the toys slick and easy to use vaginally. It doesn’t work as well with the G4 Big Boss, Tantus Leisure or other textured or matte silicone toys I have – Aqua doesn’t make them as slick as I’d prefer.
Thank you to EdenFantasys for sending this to me to review! If you’re looking for a good water-based lube to use during intercourse, Wicked Aqua Sensitive is a good one to try. You can pick up a bottle at EdenFantasys.com by clicking the widget below.
