Teaser In The Dark

It’s the end of March already, can you believe it? It’s time for spring. It’s also time for a new review for Cal Exotic’s Sexpert program, and this month I got to review the Glow in the Dark Double Trouble Glow Kiss.

The Glow Kiss comes in an easy to open cardboard box, with the product pictured on both the front and back, along with information on its use.  Inside the box are the Glow Kiss, a bullet, and 6 watch batteries (3 preinserted in the bullet), each wrapped in plastic.

The Glow Kiss is made of PureSkin, and it’s the first toy I’ve ever had made of this material. PureSkin is made from TPR, and it’s got a wonderful feel to it – skin like, soft, and squishy.  You really just want to stroke and play with it. To my surprise, it didn’t have much of a smell – there was a very slight one, but I had to get this pretty close to my nose to smell it. The toy is dusted with a powder, so it does need to be washed thoroughly before its first use.

This toy is about 6″ long overall, from tip to base. About 4 1/2″ are insertable. It has an interesting shape and resembles a rabbit vibrator without the base.  The shaft is realistic looking, although it’s not flesh colored but rather lilac in color, with some darker purples in the ridges and nooks. The head of the toy, and near the base of the shaft, are about 1 1/2″ in diameter (the shaft itself is about 1 1/4″ in diameter right below the head and gradually widens towards the base).  The shaft is extremely flexible, so even though it has a nice curve, it won’t work for g-spot stimulation if you need any kind of pressure to get off.

The base of the Glow Kiss isn’t entirely flat. It has a concavity in the center of it, so it won’t stick well to the wall or any other surface.

The clitoral stimulator is quite large, and is also very flexible. It’s about 2 1/4″ long up the back side. The top of it is covered with small squishy bumps for light clitoral stimulation during use.  It has a hold underneath where the bullet is inserted.

The bullet is 2 1/2″ long and 3/4″ wide – a pretty standard size. It’s made of ABS plastic with a silver plating. It has an O-ring below the threads to keep water out of the battery compartment. It comes with one set of LR44 batteries inserted already (- side down) ; just unscrew the halves and remove the paper, and it’s ready to go (make sure to put the paper back or remove the batteries after use, as LR44s seem to drain pretty quickly).

This bullet is easy to slide into the clitoral part of the Glow Kiss. It’s operated by the single black button on its base. This button is easy to press, but not so easy that you’ll find yourself changing the setting during use.  The bullet features 3 speeds of vibration: low, medium, and high. The vibrations are very buzzy and surface vibrations, much like most bullets, and they are concentrated in the bullet’s tip.  The vibrations on high are moderate, and they’re pretty quiet – when the bullet is inserted in the Glow Kiss, you probably won’t hear it from across the room.

So, what else does the Glow Kiss do? It glows in the dark. Expose it to a light source (right up under it is best for a few minutes, and it’ll glow for about 10 minutes. It’s a light yellowish green color in the dark, and while it isn’t nearly as bright as a glow stick, it’s light enough to see and play around with. (My camera is not the best for taking pictures in the dark, so this picture is enhanced to give you an idea of what it looks like.)

The Glow Kiss is easy to clean. The bullet should be removed and washed separately in antibacterial soap and warm water. To remove it, you may have to gently roll the material and work it loose, or you can use a bit of lube on the bullet to make removal easier.  The toy itself should be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap, and then dusted with a little cornstarch so it doesn’t become sticky and keeps its skin like feel. PureSkin is porous, so if you’re concerned about cleaning you can use a condom over the insertable part of the toy.  To avoid damage, the Glow Kiss should be stored separately from other toys in a plastic bag or toy bag, and it should be kept out of the sun.  Only waterbased lubricants should be used.

So, Did It Work? I really liked the feel of this toy a lot. I understand why it’s used for masturbators and the like, as it’s quite delightful. I was also impressed with its lack of scent – I’d been expecting something strong and unpleasant, but the Glow Kiss didn’t have much of a scent at all.

This isn’t a toy meant for thrusting, as you lose contact with the clit stimulator, and it’s not meant for g-spotting, as it’s much too pliable.  The vibrations in this toy are moderate, and they do travel well through the material. I would have enjoyed much stronger vibrations; however, this is called a “vibrating teaser” on the box, and it works pretty well for teasing – when I used it hands free (by “sitting” on it) and had the clitoral piece situated right, it buzzed along and definitely got me aroused, especially when I was told to sit still. The batteries only last about 30-40 minutes, though, so be prepared to switch them out. You can also substitute another bullet if it’s about the same diameter for longer play.

I did expect this to glow more strongly, but it was cool nonetheless and made for some fun in the dark.

Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending this to me to review as part of their Sexpert program!
