The House Bunny

February’s a time for love and all things pink, and that includes rabbits (vibes, that is, not the real ones).  This month, as part of the Cal Exotics Sexpert program, I had the fun of trying out the First Time Jack Rabbit.

The Jack Rabbit comes in a clear, large, easy to open plastic clamshell case. The toy is visible through the front, while the back has product information and details about the toy.

This is a pretty vibrator. The ABS with PU cote plastic base and inner part of the actual rabbit are a soft bubblegum pink, while the TPE sleeve is clear. The clear sleeve allows you to see the white rotating stem inside the head as well as the four rows of non-jamming silver beads (made of ABS plastic with silver plating) in the shaft and the pink bullet in the rabbit.  The TPE head is squishy, flexible, and soft, and you can feel the beads nicely if you squeeze the sleeve over them.  It has a very light scent out of the box, but it’s not very noticeable and fades quickly.

The Jack Rabbit is 10” long overall, with about 5” insertable.  It has a 1 5/8” diameter, so it’s reasonably filling. The beads in the shaft are located about 2” from the tip, and they cover about a 2” long area. There are 4 rows of 6 beads. The beads move around the shaft in a clockwise and counterclockwise direction when the Rabbit is on, and because they’re close to the surface you can feel them when they’re in motion.

The rabbit itself is about 3” long on the inner side, from where it attaches to the shaft to the tips of the ears. It’s flexible, so you can situate it as needed to hit and stimulate your clit.

This vibrator uses 4 AA batteries. Unscrew the bottom of the base, and inside the battery compartment is a clear battery holder which comes entirely out. Four AA batteries fit in the holder, and the direction is clearly labeled. It can be a bit tricky to insert this back into the base – it will only go in 2 ways, but it will only function in one of those. The end with the contacts goes in first, and it should line up with the connections inside.

The large base contains the control panel on the front.  It’s surrounded by a silver oval, and an LED light sits above the buttons. It’ll glow steady or flash (in blue) depending on the mode you’re on.  The three control buttons are all differently shaped and are a light yellow/green; if you stick them under the light for a few minutes, they’ll glow in the dark.  The top button (triangle) controls the vibration mode, the middle button (heart) changes the shaft direction (left or right), and the bottom button (circle) turns the Jack Rabbit on or off.

The Jack Rabbit has only one vibrational speed for the clitoral bullet (fast) and one speed of shaft rotation (fast). You can’t control the shaft and rabbit separately; both must be on or off. Pressing On turns on the bullet at a steady vibration and starts the shaft spinning. Pressing the top (triangle) button will cycle the bullet through two more settings – fast pulsing and medium pulsing. On any of the vibration settings, the shaft direction can be changed, and vice versa. When done, pressing the bottom (circle) button will turn the Jack Rabbit off.

The shaft has some good rotational speed, and the vibrations in the clitoral stimulator are fairly strong, high, and buzzy. They’re concentrated mainly in the rabbit’s nose but can be felt throughout the stimulator, but they won’t be felt at all in the hand holding the Jack Rabbit’s base.  This vibrator is fairly loud, so you’ll want some background sound to mask the fact that you’re using it, whether in the bedroom or in the tub (it’s waterproof for underwater fun).

Easy to clean before and after use with antibacterial soap and water or a toy cleaner, the Jack Rabbit should be patted dry and stored in a toy pouch or box. Only waterbased lubricants are recommended for use with this toy.

So, Did It Work? There’s a lot to like about the First Time Jack Rabbit. It has a decently sized shaft, and I like how I can feel the beads inside while it’s rotating. The rotation speed is high, and it didn’t dampen down much when I squeezed against the shaft.  The clitoral rabbit is long enough to fit me correctly, and it’s flexible enough that it’s easy to move and position. I don’t mind that the bullet in the clitoral piece and the shaft are controlled by one button, but I would have loved a stronger vibration in the bullet. As it is, the vibrations are moderately strong.  I would have loved to have been able to boost the level a time or two more and really get that rabbit dancing on my clit.

I had no problems with the Jack Rabbit in the tub, although I prefer to use it in bed. Overall, this is a pretty fun rabbit, and worth a look if you’re considering one for the first (or later) time.
