I do love all kinds of vibrators, but the most useful for me are the clitoral ones. Internal vibes are great (whether vaginally or anally, honestly), but nothing is better than the crazy buzzing on my clit to get me off. This month, as part of the Cal Exotics Sexpert program, I was happy to get to review the Extreme Pure Gold Mini Scoop.
The Mini Scoop from Cal Exotics comes in a small, easy to open plastic package with the product visible through the front and some information about it on the back. It looks like a miniature ice cream scoop. It’s available in either gold or silver, and mine came in bright, shiny silver. Also in the package is a small instruction sheet for the battery insertion and an N battery so you can start playing right away.
The Mini Scoop is about 3 1/2″ long with a 5/8”diameter. It’s silver from tip to base, with two white O-ring divisions and a gold band above the base’s dial. The actual clitoral scoop is 1 1/8” long, and a bit wider than the rest of the toy at 3/4″. There’s a slight seam visible that runs down the scoop, but it’s not noticeable during use.
The base unscrews to access the battery compartment. One N battery powers the Mini Scoop, inserted + side first. While it’s more inconvenient than a regular AA or AAA battery, it’s a much better power supply than watch batteries. I’ve had good luck with N batteries, and the battery seem to last a decent amount of time before needing to be replaced. The bottom O-ring keeps the base sealed tightly to the rest of the toy, making this ideal to use in the shower or tub.
The multispeed vibrations are controlled by a power dial on the base. The vibrations go from low to moderately strong and are all steady in nature. The vibrations are buzzy, so if you like deeper, throbbier vibrations you won’t enjoy this so much. While the vibrations are only moderate, they are much more effective when the Mini Scoop is used with a lighter touch than when it’s pressed hard into your clit. The vibrations are pretty quiet – with the TV or some music on, they can’t be heard from just a few feet away.
The Mini Scoop can be positioned so your clit is cupped by the scoop which provides more diffuse vibrations, or using the backside or tip if you want more pressure. In addition to using this clitorally, it can be used to stimulate the nipples, penis, balls, or other erogenous zones.
The Mini Scoop is made of ABS plastic with metallic plating, and is phthalates free. It’s easy to clean before and after use with warm water and antibacterial soap. Toy cleaner works fine as well. The Mini Scoop can be dried with a soft cloth and stored in a drawer or small toy bag (the original packaging isn’t the most convenient to store it, and since it’s so small you can put it just about anywhere).
Cal Exotics recommends using a waterbased lubricant if needed.
So, Did It Work? While it isn’t the strongest clitoral vibrator, I do like the way it feels, especially when I don’t use a heavy pressure with it. It was fun to use on my nipples as well, and it’s great to keep in my purse if I want a bit of stimulation when I’m out. It’s not something I’d use solely to get off with, but as a teaser it’s not bad at all. I do like that I can take it in the tub as well, and I’ve had no problems with water getting in the battery compartment.
Thank you to Cal Exotics for sending this to me to review! If you enjoy discreet toys with buzzy vibrations, you can pick up the Extreme Gold Mini Scoop at EdenFantasys.com .
