Gush

I watch a lot of porn, but not a lot of instructional ones in the traditional sense.   G-spot orgasms interest me, although now that I’ve been able to have one (well, more than one in fact), I don’t think there’s more to learn.  Female ejaculation, on the other hand, is something I’ve been able to do infrequently, and never to the level that I’ve seen in movies.  So when Good Vibrations had Gush: The Official Guide to the G-Spot and Female Ejaculation available for review, I figured it would be worth a watching or two.

Gush runs 1 hour and 37 minutes and is part of the Pleasure-Ed Series.  It’s hosted by Dr. Carol Queen, founder of the Center for Sex and Culture.  Over the course of this DVD, she does a radio call in show with Michelle Meow, where she takes questions from callers about g-spot orgasms and ejaculation.  During her explanations to the callers, cuts from the demonstration scenes are shown, and after each question (or two) is answered the full scene is shown.

Dr. Carol is knowledgeable, and very personable when she’s answering the questions, and she comes across as someone you’d be comfortable talking about orgasms and ejaculation with while having a latte at Starbucks.  Honestly, I’d have been interested in watching a DVD of her just doing the Q/A format, and it would also make an interesting CD for the car (I don’t think her radio show would ever be on the air where I am).   She tackles all kinds of questions, from how to have a g-spot orgasm, when to tell your partner you ejaculate, to if the ejaculate is really pee.

At the end, Dr. Carol stresses that you don’t have to have a g-spot orgasm or ejaculate to have a full and satisfying sex life, and sex is more about the fun on the journey, not the end of the trip – if it’s not pleasurable along the way, then it’s not a good trip and you shouldn’t get hung up on it. I think that’s a very good point, and one that a lot of people really get hung up on.

The five instructional scenes on the DVD are mixed with a variety of couplings, body types, and ethnicity.  Four of the five are couples (either two women or a woman and a man), while one is a solo scene.  Energetic fingers and toy use are prevalent, and the women cum with varying degrees of intensity and amount.  You should note that the scenes are not in the order listed if you select Scenes from the menu – Dylan & Mickey’s scene is before Gloria & Altair’s. The scenes, with the exception of Dylan & Mickey’s scene, are all fairly short.

Syd Blakovich & Sophia St. James

This all-female scene features frantic licking and fingering before the use of a pure wand.

Mirabelle Hayes & Maxwell Silver

This scene is a little more developed, with a lot of foreplay and fingering before Mirabelle gets out the Hitachi and Maxwell brings her to orgasm with various internal vibrators.

Jiz Lee

In the one solo scene, Jiz works her g-spot with a variety of toys before cumming.  The bed sheeting crackles a lot here, which is a bit distracting.

Dylan Ryan & Mickey Mod

Mickey’s cooking dinner when Dylan comes home, and she wants to be fucked before they eat.  Lots of kissing and fingering until Dylan squirts, and they also use a Hitachi before they have sex.

Gloria & Altair Shadow

Gloved hands and a Hitachi are used to get the one woman to ejaculate, but unfortunately it’s not reciprocated.

The DVD also contains several extras:

  • G-Spot Hunting with Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen Ph.D : Myths and Challenges
  • 7 myths, and 3 challenges
  • The Fountain of the Goddess Educational Slide Show by Author Sheri Winston, Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife
  • Cast Interviews
  • Dylan and Mickey Extra

Overall, this DVD is worth watching, for Dr. Carol alone.  She’s easy to listen to and does have some good information if you have questions about the g-spot or ejaculating, and the demonstrations and extras might give you some ideas of ways to play (and what toys to use) to achieve the result. If you’re familiar with your g-spot, whether or not you ejaculate, you might not find this as useful.
