The first Icicles toy from Pipedream that I tried was the No. 17, a beautiful g-spot dildo done in dark blue glass with a flower at the tip. It was one I really liked, and it made me want to try the other Icicles glass toys. When I saw the No. 14 I thought it had a nice design (and really, glass in the ass is wonderful) so I was happy to get this beautiful plug from Babeland.com to review.
The Icicles No. 14 comes in a simply designed cardboard box in black and white, with a full-sized picture of the plug on the front and sides. It definitely looks large and a bit intimidating. The back of the box has some information on the plug. Inside, the No. 14 rests in a Styrofoam bead to protect it, and it looks just as intimidating as it does on the box.
This beautiful plug is hand blown out of clear Pyrex glass. It’s smooth and completely seamless, from its tapered tip down and around its handle. It has a pleasant weight to it: not too heavy but not too light. Since it’s made of Pyrex, it’s stronger than regular glass, and if it does break it will snap into large pieces rather than shatter. You should be careful with it and not drop it on the floor, in the sink, or on a hard surface, and you should always check it for flaws and cracks before use (and don’t use it if you find any). You should always store this in its Styrofoam or in a protective padded pouch.
This is not a small plug. The No. 14 is about 6” long when measured along the back curve (5 1/2″ if measured straight up and down) with about 3 3/4″ insertable. The gentle curve should allow for p-spot stimulation in men. The bulbous head is about 2 1/2″ long. The tip is pointed (although not painfully so, it is nicely rounded so it won’t poke) and rapidly widens to the bulb’s 1 3/4″ diameter. It’s not a beginner’s plug, and you may need to use other anal toys to work up to its width.
The handle of the No. 14 is a circle with a wide 1 1/4″ opening. You or your partner can easily get a finger (or 2, if you have small hands) or thumb through the circle for control if you’re wanting to gently thrust with this. The handle is turned at a 90 degree angle to the head, so it fits comfortably between your cheeks to allow for long term wear out and about, and also makes it comfortable to wear around the house. Sitting isn’t a problem with this type of handle, and the plug’s overall length also helps to keep it comfortable in different positions.
One of the things I love about glass is it’s great for temperature play. Running the plug under hot or cold water for a few minutes will heat or cool it nicely. The plug shouldn’t be microwaved or frozen.
The No. 14 is easy to clean, and can be washed with warm water and antibacterial soap. It can be boiled on the stove for 3 minutes or run through the dishwasher on the top rack for extra cleaning. Since it’s glass, any type of lube is fine to use, and just a little lube goes a long way.
So, Does It Work? I love the shape of this plug – it looks a lot like the Njoy metal plugs, which have probably the best bases I’ve used to date. The curve makes it easier to insert, and the narrow neck helps keep this plug in place. The base on the No. 14 is comfortable, whether walking or sitting.
This isn’t a small plug by any means, and at the end of my comfort size for anal use. I thought I’d give it a go without warm-up first, but I couldn’t get the plug all the way in no matter how much I tried to relax. I ended up using some smaller toys until I was ready, and finally managed to get it situated. Since it has no give at all, it really is filling, and I certainly knew it was there for the whole time I had it in.
My husband liked the handle on this one. The hole allowed him to work it in and out of me without losing his grip due to lube, and the size of it also didn’t interfere with our having sex.
The No. 14 is a wonderful piece: beautiful, functional, and filling. Thank you to Babeland.com for sending this to me to review! If you’d like to try the Icicles No. 14 glass plug, you can pick one up at Babeland.com. Enjoy!
