Undercover Kitty

Some things seem strange together, although they’re really not bad. Sometimes they’re even excellent. Like fish and cheese or porn and anime. And I do have a penchant for cute vibrators. Enter the Hello, Kitty! Pocket rocket vibrator. Two things I never thought I’d put together in the same sentence, if truth be told. This vibrator almost falls into that category of “Nope, no way.” Almost. But Sanrio Co has combined the adorable Kitty and the pocket rocket in a cute and irresistible combination that I had to try out from EdenFantasys.

The Hello, Kitty! Pocket Rocket comes packaged in a see through plastic box, with Japanese writing all over. It comes in several colors – I chose the black. Hello, Kitty! sits atop the black rocket wearing a black bow and outfit with pink sleeves with her teddy sitting in front of her. The black base has the Hello, Kitty! face and logo on the front in white. The toy is small – just 5 1/2″ long overall and 1 1/4″ wide at the widest. Hello, Kitty! is 2” high on the top.

This is an easy vibrator to hide, especially if you have a lot of knickknacks on a shelf – it will fit right in and just look like it’s up on a base.

The base is labeled with Open, Off, and On and an arrow to show you which setting you are on. Turning the base to open and gently pulling reveals the battery compartment, which holds 1 AA battery + side up. Once the battery is in, put the base back in and you’re ready to go.

Hello, Kitty! only has one speed, and it’s not terribly strong – weaker than many pocket rockets I’ve used. The vibrations transmit all over Hello, Kitty! and not much at all down the base. They are mostly buzzy and surface vibrations and not very intense.  It’s a bit on the loud side, but not so loud that some background music won’t cover its use.

The Hello, Kitty! Pocket Rocket is phthalates free, latex free, non-porous and hypoallergenic. Since it’s made of plastic, it’s easy to clean. You can wipe it with antibacterial soap and warm water or use your favorite toy cleaner on it and pat dry. This vibrator is not waterproof, so take care not to submerge it. Water-based and silicone lubricants are safe to use.

So, Does It Work? As a collectible, I’m glad I got this. It would be a fun addition if Sanrio Co. would add some of Hello, Kitty!’s friends like Fifi the Poodle, Jodie the Bear, or Cathy the Rabbit to this line. I’m surprised that they aren’t available yet, but with the high popularity of Hello, Kitty!, they may not be far down the production line.

This is the cutest vibrator ever. It almost seemed wrong to use it, but I figured if Hello, Kitty! could make me purr, it would be a staple in my toy box. Unfortunately, this wasn’t strong enough for me. I don’t mind one-speed vibrators, but the Hello, Kitty! just doesn’t have enough power to do more than tease me. Even pressing this one hard just wasn’t enough. This would likely work if you like weaker vibrations for clitoral stimulation, but if you like them fast and strong, you will be frustrated. It performed better when I used an internal vibrator with it, but I ended up switching off to something stronger.
