Go For The Gold

I love bullet vibrators. My all time favorite uses 6AA batteries and has a pretty permanent place in my toy box. I like the smaller bullets too – whether just teasing myself or using them in cock rings or dildos with removable bullets, they can be great to tease with or sometimes finish the job. The Gold Bullet from the Wicked Pure Gold collection (also called Stormy’s Precious Bullet) looked like a fun one, so I requested this one from Babeland to review.

The Gold Bullet comes in an easy to open plastic case. The bullet is visible through the front and is surrounded by a picture of Stormy, one of their popular contract girls. The back of the case insert has some product information, and inside is the bullet, a small instruction sheet on accessing the battery compartment and placing the battery, as well as 1 N battery so you can start using the bullet right away.

This gold bullet is fairly small, at just 3” long and about 1/2″ in diameter. It’s slick and shiny, and quite pretty. It’s hard and solid, with no give whatsoever. The base twists off to access the battery compartment. One N battery goes in + side first to operate this bullet. An O-ring is at the bottom of the threads to make this one waterproof and ideal to take into the shower or bath.

The bullet has a dial on the base which allows for multiple steady vibration speeds, from barely there to moderately strong. The vibrations are buzzy and mostly surface vibrations. Even on maximum the bullet is fairly quiet, due to how firmly the battery is seated in the compartment and the strength of the vibrations.

This bullet is meant to be used clitorally. While you can use it vaginally as a tease, it’s much too short to do anything internally. This bullet should never be used anally, as it has no flared base and could easily get sucked in.

Since the Gold Bullet is made of plastic, it is non-porous and phthalates-free. It’s easy to clean with some antibacterial soap and warm water, or you can use your favorite toy cleaner. It’s safe to use with water-based or silicone lubricants, if necessary.

So, Did It Work? The vibrations on this bullet really weren’t enough for me. They were only moderately strong when the dial was cranked all the way to the maximum, and their buzziness didn’t allow me to cum with just this bullet alone. It worked fine for a tease, and it was fun to take into the bathtub, but I had to reach for something stronger to climax (clit-o-steel here, you know?). The battery had a fairly decent life of almost 2 hours.

This bullet is the right size to work as a replacement in some of our cock rings and bullet-powered toys, which is primarily where we’ll be using it.

I’d recommend this if you like low to moderate vibrations, and also if you are looking for a small bullet to replace one in a cock ring or other toy that uses one. The N battery lasts longer than watch batteries and provides a bit more power than they tend to.

Thank you to Babeland for sending me the Gold Bullet for free to review! If you’d like to get a Gold Bullet of your own, you can buy one from Babeland.com .

  • Pirates Pendant Vibe by OnIntimacy
  • I was skeptical. I like my bullet vibes, but rarely happen upon an occasion in which it would be helpful to have one disguised as jewelry. I had a lipstick vibe once in college. I left it in my boyfriend’s dorm and one of his unsuspecting housemates wanted to see what color lipstick I wore. Long story short, we had trouble making eye contact with each other for a while.

Note: I read enough (read: so many) reviews every week to know it’s the little things that really make a review, add that little something extra and it will make your review stand out, and that’s how this one is. What really tipped me over the edge was the corny joke embedded in the image captions and a link to the Top 10 Pirate Pick-up Lines. You know you want to go look.

Run Silent, Run Deep

Sometimes I like my vibrators with a bit of flex and squishiness. Other times I prefer them hard and inflexible. Typically the hard ones are small and straight with buzzy vibes, but the Silent Vibrations Deep Massager from Doc Johnson didn’t look small and definitely wasn’t straight. I wasn’t sure how the vibrations would be, so I had to pick this one up and give it a try.

The Silent Vibrations comes in a see-through, easy to open plastic box with some product information on the sides and back. It looks large in the box, and it looks even better when in your hands. It comes in 2 colors – I chose the blue which is a lovely shade of turquoise.

This vibrator is 6” long with an insertable length of 4 1/2″. It has a diameter of 1 3/4″, which is nice and filling, especially since it doesn’t have an ounce of give. It’s made of plastic, so the surface is hard, smooth, and a bit shiny. It has a g-spot tip and curves which look like waves on the sides. It feels solid and thick, and looks a bit intimidating in your hand.

The base is separated from the shaft by a white ring. The base unscrews to access the battery compartment. What’s nice here is a battery holder slips out so you can load the 3 AA batteries.

The control for the Silent Vibrations is located on the bottom of the base. It’s a small, black wheel, and next to it is a directional scale labeled Off on one end and High on the other. The wheel is easy to turn with your thumb.

The Silent Vibrations doesn’t have any patterns – instead it has steady vibrations that go from low to strong. On low the vibrations are very deep and throbby and the vibrator shakes like a mini jackhammer. When the dial is spun to high it keeps its throbbiness with deep and stronger vibrations. The dial is easy to spin to the level you prefer. While I wouldn’t call this silent, it’s not very loud at all, especially when inserted.

SInce this vibrator is made of plastic it’s phthalates-free and nonporous. It’s easy to clean. Simply wash with warm water and antibacterial soap, taking care not to get water on the base (this isn’t waterproof, so water can get into the battery compartment if you’re not careful), then dry with a soft towel. Both water-based and silicone lubricants are safe to use.

So, Did It Work? This isn’t a bad vibrator for internal use, although it really didn’t wow me. It is filling, and I didn’t find it difficult to insert, even though it’s large and rigid. It also wasn’t hard to hold on to.  I was able to hit my g-spot, but the vibrations were a too low for me. I liked the fact that they were rumbly, but they just weren’t strong enough to get me off easily.

This didn’t work well for me clitorally either, since I prefer much stronger vibrations there (even the high and buzzy kind) and even using a lot of pressure wasn’t enough to make me climax without the vibrations.

If you like low to moderate, rumbly vibrations and firm vibrators with a bit of girth, the SIlent Vibrations vibrator might be a good one to try.  You can get yours from EdenFantasys by clicking the widget below.

Kute and Kinky

While I’m amassing quite a collection of cuffs, mostly leather, I don’t have a lot of regular handcuffs.  It’s not that metal cuffs don’t appeal to me, but they are not as comfortable to wear for any length of time.  When I saw the Pink Fur Handcuffs from Pipedream at EdenFantasys, they looked like they could be fun and comfortable, so I decided that I had to try them.

The cuffs come packaged in an easy to open box and are visible through the front.  They look cute and unintimidating.  The back of the box has some general product information.
The cuffs are standard handcuffs.  They are made of metal and have a ratchet closure.  At their widest (on 1 ratchet) they are 2 3/4″ on the long diameter and 2” on the short diameter, so they will fit a fairly good sized wrist.  They can be ratcheted smaller as needed.  The cuffs can be released by using one of the two included keys.  They can also be opened if you lose the keys by using the quick release lever.  This lever is located right by the keyhole – simply press it up and hold it to open the cuffs.  The handcuffs are connected by a 2” chain which seems securely attached to each cuff and is short enough not to allow your hands to move much at all.

The faux fur tube is a pretty, light pink.  It’s 7” long and can be slipped entirely off  if you want to use just the metal cuffs.  You can also use it as a pattern if you want to make your own fur tubes in different colors.  The fur provides some cushioning against your wrists when the cuffs are on, but the tubes are thin and the metal can still be felt through the fur.  It does eliminate the metal chafing or cutting into your wrists.

The metal cuffs are easy to clean.  They can be wiped with a damp cloth if necessary and dried.  The fur can be removed and washed in a laundry bag in the washer and dried on low in the dryer.

So, Do They Work?  They do, although they’re not nearly as comfortable as I expected them to be.  The fur is pretty thin and when my husband tightened these around my wrists I didn’t have as much padding as I thought I would.  They were definitely more comfortable than just metal cuffs, though.  They did keep my hands secured both in front and behind, and my husband was able to open them both with the key and the quick release lever.  I’m glad they have this feature – I can just imagine the key getting lost.
I liked that the fur came all the way off.  This way I can replace it with a color and thickness of my choosing, so the cuffs will be a matching accessory to our play than just with pink.
Overall these cuffs were fun and a bit of a change  to our bondage play.  I purchased mine at EdenFantasys, and if you’d like to try a pair for yourself, you can buy these by clicking on the widget below.

Shoot To Thrill!

Normally I’m a fan of single bullets. It’s easier to control one than two and I like to have a larger insertable. The Hi-tech Bullet Collection intrigued me with its different sizes, however, so I decided to pick this up from EdenFantasys and give it a try.

The Hi-tech Bullet Collection comes in a cardboard box with the product visible through the front. The back shows 8 different attachments that are available for the controller, and the ones provided are checked. Inside my box were the controller, the g-spot bullet, and the small bullet in a matching vibrant, semi-transparent purple.

The small bullet is 2 1/2″ long and 3/4″ wide. It has a seam around the middle that can be felt by your finger, but not during use. The surface is smooth and has just a bit of drag. A ring on the end around the cord makes the bullet waterproof. The cord is 19 1/2″ long from the base of the bullet to the top of the jack.

The large g-spot bullet is 5” long with 3” insertable, and has a diameter of 1 1/8”. This bullet also has a center seam which can be felt with a finger but isn’t noticeable during use. The tip has a hook to stimulate the g-spot. The surface is the same, smooth with a bit of drag. This bullet features an 18 1/2″ cord.

The bullets should never be used anally as neither has a flared base.

The controller for the Hi-tech Bullet is 6” long and 2” wide at its widest point. It’s comfortable to hold. The front has 2 double buttons to control the bullets separately. Pressing the top of each button goes up through the levels and pressing the bottom of each cycles down. There is no dedicated off button, so you’ll have to cycle through all the levels to turn each bullet off.

The controller also has a numbered display panel with the vibration levels (1 through 10) labeled and a small led light next to each. The LED lights move up to indicate which level you’re on, and flash or glow according to the pattern in blinding red. The two jacks are at the top of the controller, to plug the bullets (or any other bullet with a mini jack) in. The controller can be used with either one or two bullets.

The battery compartment is accessed from the back of the controller. It holds 4 AAA batteries, and their direction is clearly indicated. You’ll want to insert the bottom left battery first – otherwise it’s a bit tricky to get in.

The back of the controller also has the vibration guide. It lists each number and a short name for each. The functions (which are the same for each bullet) are:

1 – Foreplay (6 long pulses, 6 medium pulses, fast pulses for about 5 seconds, repeats – low speed)
2 – Tease (8 medium pulses, steady for about 5 seconds, repeats)
3 – Arouse (20 fast pulses, low steady about 2 seconds, high steady 3 seconds, repeats)
4 – Zoom (steady, from low in 4 steps to high, repeats)
5 – Wave (high and steady for 5 seconds, then med, then low, repeats)
6 – Pulsation (long pulses)
7 – Vibration (fast pulse 8 sec, steady 2)
8 – Random (random speed pulse patterns and intensities)
9 – Racer (high fast strong vibration)
10 – Climax (pulses and steady vibration, repeats)

What’s interesting is that there’s only 1 level that’s a steady, high vibration – the rest are patterns of some sort. The bullets can be set independently, so if you like high and steady vibrations clitorally and a pulse pattern internally you can set the one to 9 and the other to 6. With both bullets running there is no noticeable drop in power to either. There really are 100 possible vibration combinations when both bullets are used.

The larger bullet has vibrations that are deeper and throbbier, while the smaller bullet is more buzzy.  They aren’t terribly noisy, and probably won’t be heard by anyone if you’ve got some background music or noise on.

The bullets and controller are made of plastic, so they are phthalates free, hypoallergenic, and non-porous. The bullets are waterproof, the controller is not, so this isn’t safe for the shower or bath. The controller should be wiped with a damp (not wet) cloth and dried, taking care not to get water in the jack holes or the battery compartment. The bullets can be washed in warm water and antibacterial soap and dried.

So, Did It Work? I liked this bullet set quite a bit.   It was great to be able to set each bullet at a different level. The small bullet worked well clitorally (on 9), while I liked most of the vibration patterns on the g-spot bullet. I found that bullet to be a bit short to really stimulate my g-spot, but it didn’t feel bad internally.  I would have liked it to be about an inch longer for easier manipulation.

I did like that I could use other bullets and small jack toys with the controller, which provided more variety. I  hooked up a vibrating anal plug that I have which was a lot of fun on the pulse patterns.

I would have preferred a dedicated on/off button for both bullets – I hate having to cycle down through levels to turn something off.  Also a bit more power – while the vibrations are moderately strong, for me stronger is almost always better.

Overall, this is a fun and useful set. I got mine at EdenFantasys, and you can purchase one for yourself by clicking the widget below.
