Kink of the Week: Singletails

I’ve seen singletails in the movies, in the hands of Zorro, Catwoman, and my favorite, Indiana Jones. It’s fun to watch him use it (and I even have the app on my phone to crack playfully at my partner) but it’s one of those things I’ve never done. I can’t imagine on my flesh. It makes such a sharp sound, and I don’t think I could handle the pain when it made impact, nor the blood, nor the marks. I know that they can be used lightly, but my partner would say, “If it’s going to be light, I might as well use a feather.”

Would I ever try one? I don’t know. If we were at a club or location where a scene was being done featuring one, I’d definitely watch. I’d like to see how someone skilled in their use could vary the intensity and sensation. I might even volunteer to feel the lash. In my house? Hell no. I could just see the plates and knickknacks flying off the shelves as my partner tried to stripe my backside while singing “Whip It”, and I’d get a case of the giggles picturing him behind me with one of those cone hats and dancing in a yellow jumpsuit. And then I’d really be in trouble.

Kink of the Week: Flogging

Flogging, or in my case being flogged, is not what I’d call an actual kink of mine. I don’t need it or crave it, although I certainly enjoy when he brings out the flogger. It’s never a set idea, unlike the crops or other toys, but rather a surprise for me, and a lead-in to playing kinky for the night. It’s also one of the few items we have that I use on him to tease and get him aroused.

For our first real flogger, I bought  one which had soft, white, faux fur falls mixed with black suede falls. It was absolutely lovely, and not really intimidating at all, although it could sting a bit.  It’s one of the few floggers we own, and it’s still a favorite. I love being tied down, legs spread, and completely naked, and having my husband run the flogger up and down my body. He’ll start slowly, and it gives me chills as he caresses my skin with the flogger, trailing the falls down my back and ass, over my thighs and the backs of my knees, and then down to tickle my feet. It feels delicious. It’s sensual, and the light touches get me wet as I wait for more.

I love when he cuffs my wrists to the bar over the door and spreads my legs wide before gently hitting me with the flogger.   I love how it feels, whether he’s gently striking my back and ass or using a bit more force. It rarely leaves a mark, but it feels so good.

I don’t care for being flogged on my breasts or stomach, but I love the feel of the falls on my back, my ass, and even when they gently hit between my legs. I’m thinking we may have to put it to use tonight…

Kink of the Week: Canes

I’ve never been caned. Spanked? Yes. Paddled? Yes. Had a crop turn my ass red? Fuckin’ a right. But a cane is something I’ve never tried.

We have no friends that are in any way into the scene, and there aren’t any groups nearby, so a lot of our BDSM exposure and kink exploration has come from watching videos and getting ideas (usually from Kink.com). I’ve seen a lot of caning on their site – on hands, feet, legs, and ass – and it looks more painful than anything I’ve done.

Now, I like a bit of pain. I like to feel the sting of my partner’s hand as it slaps my ass, the intense bursts  of sharp pain that the crop provides, and the way my skin heats up after each blow. I love to look in the mirror when we’re done and see the redness, and sometimes the marks, that are left on my skin.  Sometimes the marks last for hours, which isn’t so much a result of damage and excessive force as it is the result of being off my allergy drug for too long. And yes, sometimes I specifically don’t take it for a day beforehand to really make the marks last. But there’s something about caning that makes me leery to try it.

Quite honestly, it looks like it hurts. A lot. And I don’t know if I can handle that much pain.  I’m not sure if I want raised welts or  have blood drawn. The idea is exciting, but I’m afraid the pain may be too much for me to handle.

But who knows? Maybe one of these days we’ll give it a try. I’ll try almost anything once.
